About our home

Recently renovated isolated cottage, 4 k from the sea. Which you can see from loft bedroom. Very quiet, car is essential. Miltown Malbay is famous for traditional music and you can depend on at least three sessions every week. The house is very comfortable with outside terrace and gardens when weather obliges! We have had the house for 30 years now, use it frequently, our children grew up there and while they are now scattered, love to use it whenever they return. Our detatched 5 bedroom house in dublin 4 which is in easy reach of inner city (donnybrook ) is also possible for some of the time. there are good links from our dublin home to the airport (air link coach). We have been involved in home exchanges before and worked very well

My name is Jim and I am a retired public service architect, my wife, Carmel, is a teacher who now specialists in child care development. We are based in Dublin and our 3 children are now in America, London and Limerick. We speak Irish and English. Architect friends of ours and their families from Barcelona have come on holidays and enjoyed it greatly.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Surrounded by farming land. It is remarkably quiet with little or no traffic on the access road. The area has a distinctive character, noted for its friendly people and the now famous annual traditional music school (in July) called "the Willy Clancy School". It has 3 major golf courses and numerous beaches. We particularly enjoy the open cliff seaside walks at the nearby "white strand" Lahinch (8 k.) to the north is one of Europeans best known surfing beaches. Miltown is ideally located for visits to the Burren and the Aran islands are easily reached by ferry from Doolin. Galway is one hour away as is Limerick. Our dublin home is a detatched two storey house in secluded gardens of approx 300 s. metres. this house is served by broadband and internet connections.
