About our home

We have a spacious newly refurbished family home situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in Goatstown, a tranquil suburb in south Dublin. Our home is bright, comfortable, clean and spacious. It's a bungalow all on one level. The house was built in 1965 and was renovated and extended at the end of 2011/beginning of 2012.

From the Entrance Hall there are doors leading to the Sitting Room the Kitchen and the Sleeping accommodation. The Sitting room features an open fireplace and overlooks the front of the house. It has a TV and 2 comfortable couches. We tend to use this the quieter relaxing space. We have lots of books which you are welcome to read.

It is furnished with a large 6 seater L-shaped leather couch. We have a fireplace with a natural gas fire, a large wall mounted Plasma TV. We have satellite TV, Blu-Ray DVD and XBox Kinect. The Living room is open to the kitchen and Dining room. The dining room is simple and bright, with large window. It features a large extendable table that can seat up to 12 people.

The sunny courtyard-style back garden has been professionally landscaped with a fountain in the centre, it creates an additional outdoor living area for entertaining and relaxing. The new kitchen has all the usual appliances. It has a double Neff oven, an induction hob and ceiling mounted extractor above the island. It works really well for cooking and conversation. The pantry is well stocked offers plenty of storage.

The Entrance Hall leads to a corridor connecting to the four bedrooms. Bedroom 1: Guest bedroom with en-suite shower/whb/wc 5' King Size Bed (US Queen). Bedroom 2: Single Bed with built in wardrobes. We live in a quiet safe suburban area, close to the Dublin and Wicklow mountains. The rooms in our home are all large and comfortable. We have great neighbours and friends who can assist you should you require it. It is a loved family home that we are happy to exchange with another family.

More about us

  1. We are Shane and Angela, a married couple with 3 girls. Shane is a professional accountant working as a Finance Director and Angela works as a laboratory capital equipment sales rep. Our girls are aged 8, 7 and 5 (in the summer of 2015 they will be 9, 7 and 6). We have no pets. In 2008 we lived in Barrie, Ontario, Canada for 11 months and we really enjoyed our stay there. We have not done a home exchange before but think it could be the ideal way for our family to have a vacation with some home comforts. We have been busy this winter completing an extensive renovation on our home and are excited to share it with visitors. Our children are very well behaved and respectful of our property and we would ensure that they would respect any property we visit.
