Our home is a detached bungalow (210m2) situated on a tree-lined avenue in the heart of the pretty village of Greystones.
In 2007 our house underwent a major renovation to create a spacious and modern family home.
The house which can comfortably sleep up to 8 people has 4/5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, livingroom, huge kitchen/diningroom/family room, playroom/bedroom 5. A unique features is a folding door system which entirely opens up the back of our house to connect the inside and outside spaces. Other features are underfloor heating and solar panels for water heating.
Our back garden is a real sun trap with mature trees/shrubs and a big deck with a gas barbeque, perfect for outside dining.
A computer is available in the kitchen and there is WiFi internet throughout. There is full satellite TV in 3 rooms. Also DVD with a large selection of movies and a Wii console. For the smaller ones we have lots of toys, a swing set and a sand play area in the garden. 3 bikes available.
We also have 2 cars, a grand voyager (7 seater) and saab 9-3 available for exchange.
We are Peter and Melissa and both of us grew up in Greystones. Together we own and run a graphic design/publishing business in Dublin and Boston. We have four kids, Eoin (9), Ryan (6), Lucy (4) and Zoe (2) and Bailey the dog. We all really enjoy being outdoors and spending time together.
In 2008, Greystones was named as the world's 'most livable community' at the LivCom Awards in China. You can see the winning presentation here www.greystoneschamber.ie
Our home is in the heart of the town and we're just a few minutes walk from the village which has a great selection of restaurants, pubs, trendy cafes and boutique shops. There is also a beautiful blue flag beach with a village park and playground nearby. The train runs every hour and takes 45 minutes to Dublin. There are some fantastic walking/hiking trails particularly the cliff walk between Greystones and Bray which has spectacular sea views. Golfers can enjoy 13 courses within a ten mile radius.
Wicklow is known as the garden of Ireland and Greystones is the perfect base to explore the spectacular countryside, lakes, historic sites, country towns and pristine beaches all within a 30 minute drive.
Historic Dublin is a great day trip only 30 mins by car or 45 mins by train.
