About our home

We really enjoy our home. It's all on one level and every room looks out on to a private garden area. There's a real feeling of space and light to the house. It's a modern house and so nice and warm (underfloor heating in extension). Its very low maintenance so great with kids. There are 4 bedrooms: 1 main bedroom with bathroom beside it. 1 spare room with a double futon - this can be used as a bedroom or kids playroom. 1st kids bedroom has bunk beds and the 2nd kids bedroom will have a cot in it. There is also a 2nd large family bathroom. We have a large sunny kitchen/living room area and a then a second living room with TV. Our garden is big enough and wraps around the house. It is very private - no one can see in. We love gardening. For children there is a shed to play in, football goalposts available and a wooden climbing frame. We have off road parking. Our neighbours are very nice and very quiet!

More about us

  1. We have done 3 home exchanges which worked out really well and we would like to do another in 2014. We're a family of 5 (2 boys aged 7 & 9 & a baby girl) l work in communications and my husband works as a project manager. We're really into sport and love meeting people. Having lived abroad for many years, we speak Italian, German and a bit of French and Spanish between us. In 2014, we are hoping to find a home exchange in Europe, could be UK/Ireland or France, Spain, Portugal, Italy by the sea. Easter, mid term & summer.

Where is it?

We live between the 2 lovely towns of Delgany and Greystones (10 mins walk to both) so we get the best of both worlds plus it's so close to Dublin (30mins by car and 40mins by train). The house is one of 15 in a small estate just off a country road but near the villages. Its a lovely part of Ireland and very safe. Both villages have a bustling village life and sense of community. The picturesue and historical village of Delgany is nestled up in the hills surrounded by golf courses with beautiful country walks and views. There are 2 local pubs, a wonderful cafe/restaurant, shop, butcher etc. Greystones is right beside the sea and only 10mins walk from our house. It is a very popular place to visit for both Dubliners and tourists and is a commuter town for Dublin. Originally a small fishing village, Greystones has grown significantly over the past number of years but has not lost its friendly and welcoming village atmosphere. With frequent train connections to Dublin and Wexford and excellent motorway access to the N11, Greystones is the ideal holiday base. Lovely restaurants, cafes, pubs and other unique shops. There is lots to do in Greystones and we really love living here ... mainly because of the people, the sea and the new swimming pool and gym complex. We also go in to Dublin centre on a frequent basis by car and train for work and play reasons!
