About our home

Our home is a large and beautiful family home. We have 5 bedrooms - master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and dressing room, double room with ensuite shower room, two double bedrooms and one single bedroom. There is also an additional family bathroom and separate toilet downstairs. There is a very elegant drawing room, formal dining room, study, playroom and large kitchen/diner, with separate utility room. The house has lots of character with all original period details such as shutters, fireplaces, high ceilings, ornate plasterwork, etc. There is a sunny, private and secure garden with grass and patio area, with barbeque. As we have young children, the house is very child-friendly - lots of toys, books, DVDs, wii, swings, play house. However, the house is equally suited to travellers without children.

More about us

  1. We are a married couple with two children aged 9 and 7. We are both lawyers although we are both now involved in different professions - my husband now has his own company and I am a musician. We did our first home exchange last year and really enjoyed it. We enjoy travelling and think this is a great way to explore another country. We also love the idea of introducing Greystones (and our home) to others as we enjoy living here so much. We have a cat called Bella, who will stay in our home, but we can make other arrangements if necessary. We have a 7 seater VW Touran (2007), which we are happy to include in the exchange. Our neighbours and friends will all be happy to help you during your stay.

Where is it?

Our house is located a two minute walk from the train station and the main street, with shops, restaurants, etc. The house is on a quiet residential street. Greystones is a picturesque, old coastal town and is a friendly and relaxed place. There are lovely walks and every amenity - swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, golf, horseriding, hillwalking, playground, excellent restaurants, pubs, blue flag beach, supermarkets, etc. There is a regular train service (every 30 minutes) to Dublin (50 minutes) so you can also explore Dublin easily. There are many interesting places within easy reach e.g. Powerscourt Estate, Glendalough.
