“Aonghus and Triona live in an amazing area with so many things to see so close to their place. We stayed there a too short period of time unfortunately but we loved the fantastic view to the plain and the sea from the house. The house itself is very spacious and comfortable, and it was really nice for us to find ourselves in a family environment. Our daughters loved to take care of Tiger the Cat!”

About our home
Our home was built in 2009. It is located within 40 minutes of Dublin, and only 15 minutes from historic Newgrange and the Boyne Valley. It is 270 sq meters in size on a large site, with lots of fun and play facilities for our children. We have bicycles for all ages, go-karts, football and basketball nets, board games and a range of reading material for all ages.
The house is on a secluded site of an acre in size, 500 meters from the road. Panoramic views across the Irish Sea and south to the Dublin Mountains are stunning. In summer, there is an abundance of raspberries in the garden.
The large kitchen is at the heart of the home, whilst the sunroom is the perfect place to enjoy the views. Our children enjoy having their own place in the play room and outdoor play house.
Within 30 minutes our home, visitors can climb the Cooley mountains, visit Newgrange and The Battle of the Boyne site, Monasterboice Round Tower and High Celtic crosses, head to the beach, visit Slane and Trim castles or seek adrenaline highs at Tayto Theme Park. Within an hour are Ireland’s longest cycle Greenway awaits, Dublin’s theatres and museums and Belfast’s Titanic quarter.

Aonghus 's reviews
As a host (2)“This is an absolutely lovely home with a spectacular view of the Irish countryside and Sea. The location was excellent as it is in the Boyne Valley, with lots to do and see right outside your door including Newgrange, Battle of the Boyne, and Monasterboice. It is also close to both Dublin, Belfast and the motorway which made day trips easy and quick. There are many amenities nearby which makes shopping easy. This home was spotless and comfortable to stay in for a family. There are all the toys, bikes and sports equipment you could need. Everything was in excellent condition and the Rooney's left a comprehensive guide about their home so that is was easy to figure out appliances etc. The Rooney family are easy to communicate with and quick to respond over text or email. Over the course of our swap our families have actually developed a friendship and even connected in the end of the swap for a dinner together to exchange stories and some laughs. We have had the most amazing trip to Ireland and we already miss this lovely home a lot! I highly recommend this home and family to anyone interested in experiencing an authentic Irish home and town. ”
