About our home

Idyllic lakeland setting - 5 minute secluded woodland walk to the Lough Gill lakeshore, immediate mountain views to north and south and proximity to the Atlantic Ocean (Rosses Point and Strandhill Beaches are approx 10 minutes drive). Many quiet rural walks within easy reach. Great location for sight seeing along the 'Wild Atlantic Way' - See Links below - Counties Donegal, Mayo, Galway, Leitrim and Fermanagh within 1-2 hour drive. Dublin (2.5 hours) and Galway in Ireland and Belfast and Derry cities in Northern Ireland are also a 2 hour drive.

The house (300 Square Meters = 3,000 Square feet, on 1 acre) has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, an open plan living/dining/kitchen area - a separate sitting room and a separate dining room. It has a high standard of furnishings and is very bright and comfortable and has a relaxing rural ambience, with sheep and cattle grazing in the nearby fields. It is of modern design, (2012) with geothermal heating and all modern utilities are provided.

It is located five minutes drive from Sligo Town (30,000 population) with many restaurants, theatres and cinemas. Dublin airport is a 2.5 hour drive. Direct flights are available Toronto to Dublin. Short flights to the United kingdom (Manchester/London, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam and many other locations) are also available from Ireland West Airport Knock, approx 50 minute drive from our house..

Sligo also has many festivals, sporting and cultural activities, Irish Music Festival in August, Yeat's Summer School, seaside swimming, surfing, golf, pitch and putt, cycling, sailing, fishing and various other amenities.
