About our home

This site asked me to choose between so many descriptions, when in fact our home meets so many of them. Yes we are a coastal town with so many beaches both here and within 30 minutes drive, but it's also within a mile of the main town of Kenmare. It overlooks Kenmare Bay and the mountains and enjoys a quiet private countryside location, yet a mile walk away is the main town with all the hustle and bustle you might require. It's quite unique. It offers so many different types of holiday.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

It's a quiet and private setting for the detached house. We have deer and rabbits wander through early in the morning. It is near the Kerry Way, one of the main walking routes in Kerry, and only half a mile further up, offers an amazing view! Truly it is very beautiful here. Yet only a short walk, a mile downhill, you have the main town of Kenmare... also lots of taxis in town to save the walk back up the hill!

Buzzy restaurants
It's offers vast choice and Kenmare adores it's food. From gastro choices, Mulcahys, Pakies, Tom Crean and The Limetree to lots of family choices. Pyro, The Mews, Boca...really I can't list them all, there's so many. Also lots of cafe's for some gorgeous cakes and a coffee. Truly... three weeks and you still would have more choices.
Cool bars
Lots of pubs and restaurants and live music. Late night drinking and cocktail bars also are a favourite of mine. Also Killarney and Tralee are major towns, offering clubs and dancing, within a 45 min taxi ride away.
Cozy cafés
Honestly...to many to mention, but perhaps either The Rose Garden or the little french cafe, both offering fabulous pastries and breads!
Retail therapy
Again...so many shops to choose from...clothes, jewelers, shoes, gifts, art...just so much....
Walks in the park
The Kerry Way into the mountains and into Killarney, spectacular walks.
Spot of exercise
Kenmare Bay Hotel and swimming pool. Gym here also. Star outdoors within 10 mins also offers water sports, kayaking, archery, assault courses and huge choice..a great day out..
Day tripping
Kenmare Seafari. Star Outdoors. More to follow when I get organised.... ;)
