“We spent six weeks in Brian and Fiona's home between mid-October and late November and it felt like a dream. The house is large, bright and pleasant, well heated, the garden is lovely, and the view from each of the rooms in the house is gorgeous in all weathers. We never got tired of it. County Kerry is breathtakingly beautiful. Everywhere, different and wild landscapes. And if you need a bit of town and human contact, the town of Kenmare, 15 minutes from the house, is charming, full of good restaurants, pretty shops and adorable people. Fiona and Brian are the perfect hosts. The exchanges with them were friendly and reliable, they answered all the questions and all the needs that we could have during our stay at their place, and during their stay at our place they were attentive and respectful of our home, and everything went wonderfully!”

About our home
Our wonderful holiday home was built in 2006 and is a lovely place to entertain family and friends, with breathtaking views from every room. We overlook the sea and the Beara Pennisula, so we have sea and mountain views.
The house is very comfortable and well located to tour Kerry and Cork; fantastic hillwalking, and a 5 minute drive to the gourmet town of Kenmare which has lovely shops, and a theatre.
Easy reach of good beaches, 2 18 hole golf courses within 10 minutes and trout and salmon fishing. It's an hour and a half from Cork airport; 40 minutes from Killarney station; 2 hours from Shannon and 4 from Dublin airport; car available. 3 of the bedrooms are ensuite; there is a large lofted garage which can provide further accomodation if needed and it includes a shower room with wc. We may have 2 bicycles available for your use.
There is good fly fishing for salmon during September nearby in our local river the Blackwater. This is a spate river so the fishing is dependent on the rains and the run of fish.
Kenmare is an historic town with wonderful restaurants and 2 five star hotels (Sheen Falls and the Park); it has a charming atmosphere and is most welcoming for tourists.
We have recently planted our large garden so the garden is not really suitable for children, but the garden is in the process of being stunning and is a yes for garden lovers.

Fiona's reviews
As a host (4)“We had a wonderful week in Bryan and Fiona's beautiful home. Set in a stunning location on a hillside overlooking Kenmare Bay, we thoroughly enjoyed this spacious, comfortable house with its lovely landscaped gardens and spectacular sunsets. The house is well equipped, and was the perfect place to relax between all our outings around lovely west Cork and Kerry. Kenmare is really well-located for visiting many of Ireland's iconic beauty spots such as Killarney, Glengarrif, The Healy Pass and the Gap of Dungloe. Bryan and Fiona had left us a great list of suggestions for places to visit, where to eat out, and suggestions for a spot of shopping. Kenmare is the gourmet capital of south Kerry, and we had some great meals there during our holidays, as well as lots of coffees and pints of Guinness! Fiona had left directions for 2 lovely local swimming spots only 5 minutes from the house, and so we swam most days. All the arrangements for collecting keys etc went smoothly, and Fional left very clear instructions for how the house worked. We really enjoyed Kenmare and the wider region, and Bryan and Fiona's lovely home was the perfect base-all in all this was a 5 star home swop. Highly recommended!”
