About our home

Comfortable family home where we have raised our three children with a beautiful back and front garden. Our house is situated in the grounds of one of Ireland's finest medieval cathedrals (12th century St. Canice's). All modern conveniences in the house and lots of space to relax. The house dates back to medieval times but has been restored and updated for modern needs. There is a tv and dvd and cd player.

Located within a few minutes walk of the historic town of Kilkenny where there is a beautiful castle, park, good restaurants, nice shops and access to mainland bus and train services to Dublin, Waterford, Carlow etc. The countryside around Kilkenny is very beautiful and buses are available to some of the smaller villages where there are interesting sites of historic interest e.g. Inistioge (Woodstock Gardens - ruined 18th century house with fantastic parkland by the river), Kells (The Priory - 12th century), Graiguenamanagh (12th century Abbey) and so on. Also a visit to Birr, Co. Offaly is a possibility. The lovely River Nore runs through the centre of Kilkenny and the whole town is within walking distance of our house.

We are both musicians and are hugely interested in the arts - hence lots of books on art and music in our house. We enjoy travelling and staying for longer periods in one place in order to explore our destination fully. Our three children now live independently but will be available to give advice any visitors to our home and help in any way they can.
