About our home

This is a beautiful home with lots of charm, the walls are rough-plastered throughout, with wooden floors, windows & doors. All corners are rounded which is a lovely effect. The inspiration for this house comes from the old Irish cottage & it has that feel especially when you relax in front of the large stone fire-place with it's solid fuel old style "Stanley" stove. There is also an oil-fired central heating system. You may also avail of free phone calls within Ireland to land-lines & 24 hour wireless broadband internet access. Downstairs comprises the entrance porch, a very large sitting-room, the main bathroom, kitchen & utility room. Upstairs has 2 bedrooms with the master bedroom having an en-suite with electric shower. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds. There is a nice garden surrounding the house with places to sit should the weather permit.

More about us

  1. My name is Olive & I live with my dog Putu. My main interest is travel & my favourite place is Bali but love Thailand also or anywhere in Asia basically.
Anywhere in Europe but only in the Summer/Autumn months.
I usually travel alone as I go for a few months at a time, however, on the odd occasion a friend may join me for a week or two.
As of 2014 I've started to do B&B so whether I can travel or not depends on whether I have guests or not just send a request & I'll let you know.

Where is it?

The house is situated in Killarney described by many scholars throughout the centuries as "heaven's reflex" & is only 3 klms., from the town centre. The house itself has a farm surrounding it so it's quite & if you walk 5 mins down the road you have the most amazing views of the famous Killarney mountains & lakes. Killarney is a National Park & therefore a protected area, so as a result there are many places for hiking, (mountaineering is very big here) walking, fishing, golfing etc., and if you get bored in Killarney you are within a stone's throw to the Ring of Kerry & The Dingle Peninsula.
