Designed and built with a passion for architecture, art and an appreciation for the "good things in life".
Respecting times past and the environment whilst embracing the present.
A classic lodge style home, set in 2 acres of garden designed by Chelsea gold medalist landscape architect.
It is a haven of beauty and comfort with an eccletic mix of antique and new, for comfort, entertaining and relaxation.
The kitchen is the heart of our home, we are a "foodie" family who love good food, to cook and entertain at home.
We have a well stocked pantry and a large selection of interesting cookery books. Aga, gas and electric cookers.
Doors open from our kitchen living room, sun room, sitting room, play room and ground floor bedroom onto a large deck and terrace area , Southwesterly facing and over looking Killarney National Park and the Lakes of Killarney.
Our garden has lots of little secret hide aways .
To the rear of the house is a large circular raised mound , on top you
will find a cobbled , sunk in stone circle seated area centered with a firepit .This is a magical area to see the stars at night , to watch the sun go down , or to sit and read your book by the fire - outside !!
Another hidden gem is our curving , meandering willow structure , leading to an inner sanctum of calm in our hut .
Inside, too we have open fireplaces with plenty of firewood, and solid wooden floors throughout , except for our carpeted quiet relaxing sitting room with a grand piano.
We have 4 bedrooms all with bathrooms.Our Main bedroom with French doors opening onto a balcony overlooking the panoramic views of our beautiful National Park.
Our home is heated with geo thermal under floor heating and has a high pressure water system.
Our house is nestled within farm and park land . On one side by a field with 2 broad mares and foals and on the other side a farm with a pedigree herd of Fresians.
We love to entertain our friends and our children's friends but also enjoy quiet time,in the privacy,peace and tranquility of our happy home .
We have family bikes and a go cart , and the use of 2 cars.
KIllarney, to borrow from the Lonely Planet guides for a description;
"Killarney is a well-oiled tourism machine in the middle of sublime scenery that looks swell on a postcard. Its manufactured tweeness is renowned ...... it has many charms beyond its obvious proximity to lakes, waterfalls, woodland and moors dwarfed by 1000m-plus peaks. In a town that’s been practising the tourism game for over 250 years, competition keeps standards high, and visitors on all budgets can expect to find superb restaurants, great pubs and good accommodation."
