About our home

Large country house in an idyllic location nestled at the foot of Tountinna, the highest peak in the Arra mountain range.
Boasting stunning views, our house is a prime location for walking, hiking, cycling or simply just relaxing and is just 3 and a half miles (6KM) from the twin lake towns of Ballina and Killaloe where you have access to pubs, restaurants, shops and access to the Lough Derg Blue Way offering many and varied trails, avdentures and activities on or around Lough Derg.
40 minutes from Shannon airport and an hour and a half from Galway and the Clare coastline, our house is a fantastic base for exploring the west of Ireland.

Boasting 5 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 2 sitting rooms (both with log burning stoves) and plenty of outdoor space and sun areas, our house can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Rural, quiet, picturesque country road with a few houses and a stunning mountain backdrop.

Buzzy restaurants
Ballina & Killaloe hosts a wide variety of restaurants offering international and traditional cuisine. Our favourite is either Flanagans on the lake or Matt the Thresher in Birdhill.
Cool bars
Many pubs and bars in both Ballina and Killaloe, our favourites are Liam O'rians, a traditional local Irish pub, or the Washer Woman, both offer a great atmosphere , great beer and traditional music
Cozy cafés
Lots of options and two favourites, Ponte Vechio for great coffee, wine and pizza and the Wooden Spoon, an Avoca inspired coffee shop offering amazing coffee, cakes, scones and healthy lunches.
Retail therapy
Just 12 miles from Limerick city (25 minutes on the motorway) and you arrive in Limerick with its bustling shopping streets and big brand shopping centres.
Bit of culture
Less than 1 kilometre from our house lay the Graves of the Leinsterman, a famous national heritage site from the times of Brian Boru. A little further on and you reach the Millennium Cross boasting fantastic views over Lough Derg where on a good day you can see deep into the Clare and Galway countryside. Situated in the heart of the Midwest, our house is fantastically located to visit historical sites like Bunratty Castle, Clare and Kerry or the wild Atlantic way.
Walks in the park
Many local walks in and around our house and the wider Ara mountain range with the Clare Glens less than a 30 minute drive away.
Spot of exercise
Clarisford park Sat morning park run starts at 9am every week this is a family friendly event.
Day tripping
Galway is a great day out or travel further on to Conemara and experience the delights of roundstone and Cliffden. Dingle and the South West are short drive day trips. There is lots to explore along the wild Atlantic way.
