About our home

Our home is a lovely, family home. It is comfortable and practical and greatly loved with a large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a twin room across the hall for our two little girls. Our cosy kitchen and dining area is to the rear and our living room faces the front of the house. We have a lovely lawn with a pretty display of flowers to the rear of the house with a trampoline and use of the family's bicycles also. To the front we have a fenced paddock housing our hens and our two geese. Our patio faces the setting evening sun to the rear. You can sometimes hear the sound of the sea from our back door, and you get a view of the sea from our front door, across the fields.

More about us

  1. We are a family of four - Peter, Nicola and our two daughters aged 10 and 9. Peter is an artist and has his studio upstairs in our house (which is why the rooms upstairs are not part of the exchange) We have had two lovely home exchanges before - one in Paris and one in Ireland. We would just love to see more of the countries around us. (Also, we would welcome people keeping an eye on our cat and our hens and geese, although they are all very independent!!!) There are plenty of toys and books inside and bicycles and a trampoline outside. Our home would suit a couple or a family - however, we don't have a T.V. so it wouldn't suit everybody. Also, in order to make the most of your trip, you would need a car. There is public transport (a bus that passes the door 3 times a day into town) but to REALLY see Ireland, it would be better to have a car. ( Unfortunately, we cannot do a car exchange as our insurance company now prohibits this. )

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We are situated in the South-East corner of Wexford (and Ireland!)... in the Sunny South East. We are spoiled for choice for lovely sandy beaches or rocky cliff walks. The picturesque village of Kilmore Quay is 3 miles away and the historic Johnstown Castle is only 6 miles away en route to the Viking town of Wexford, a very pretty town with narrow, historic streets. You could cycle and have a lovely time and enjoy swimming, boat trips to the Saltee Islands, an award-winning Seafood meal in our local pub, an historic museum or the local playground for the little ones.
The National Heritage Park, Hook Head Lighthouse, The Dunbrody Famine Ship, John F. Kennedy Homestead.. all within a short drive. Wexford has loads to offer as a launching pad to see more of Ireland or as days out locally... or if you want to chill out and relax there is plenty right in Kilmore to keep you in the area.
