About our home

Located in a quiet cul de sac, our house has been recently renovated and is a spacious family-friendly home a short walk/drive from Carrigaline village, with plenty of restaurants, pubs and shops, and just 20 minutes drive from Cork airport.
We are lucky to live close to the beautiful town of Kinsale with its multitude of bars/restaurants, lovely scenery and coastal walkways, as well as its famous golf course at the Old Head of Kinsale and its sailing. The heritage town of Cobh from which the Titanic made its last fateful voyage is less than 30 mins away. You can kiss the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle, visit the Midleton Distillery, and historic Cork City is about 20 minutes drive.
The lovely coves and sandy beaches of Myrtleville and Fountainstown are less than 10 minutes drive away. ...or you can just walk out the front door for a country-side walk. Wild secluded coves and cliff walks at Nohoval and Roberts Cove will have the camera going non-stop!
Nearby there is a walking/running/cycling path/Greenway along the estuary 2 min drive away/10 min walk that runs all the way to Crosshaven. There are woodland walks at Currabinny or in Tracton Woods.
Crosshaven seaside village is just 10 mins drive, with the great sea-faring traditional pub Cronins and its award winning Madfish restaurant, the Rivers End café and Camden Fort cafe overlooking the mouth of Cork harbour, kept our "swappers" coming back again and again.
There are championship golf courses at Fota and the famous Old Head of Kinsale among others, sea angling and whale watching in Kinsale and West Cork, kayaking and sailing all within driving distance. Kinsale also marks the beginning of the "Wild Atlantic Way" with many walks and areas off the beaten track to explore.
For the kids, there are great playgounds in Carrigaline and Crosshaven. Worth the drive are Fota Wildlife Park, Rumleys Farm, Zipit zipwire park at Farran Woods and BounceZone indoor trampoline area all within easy reach ...or the kids can just hang out in our playroom/den with lego, games and tv, or on our swings and slide and football goals in the garden. We have a new rectangular trampoline for budding gymnasts! The large garden has plenty of safe room for outdoor fun!
Famously scenic Killarney and the Ring of Kerry, historic Rock of Cashel and Kilkenny Castle, Galway and Dublin are each worth at least a day trip, though you may end up wanting to stay for longer once you get there! The Dingle peninsula in particular deserves a day or two to explore and appreciate the outstanding scenic beauty of the Slea Head drive, amazing beaches, the chocolate factory(!), bars, restaurants, Funghi the dolphin and so so much more....
The house itself has been recently renovated to a high standard with new open plan kitchen/dining/living room, large utility, living room with fireplace, 4 double bedrooms (+ a fold-up cot), kids den/tv room, dedicated yoga/exercise/relaxation room and 2 outdoor patios with seating/dining.
Car swap may be organised and bikes are available for use. A cleaner is available on request. Also our next door neighbour (who speaks English and Spanish) will help with anything she can.
We hope you will enjoy our home as much as we love living here, and that you find it a relaxing home-from-home from which to explore all that Ireland has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you.
