About our home

Our family home is in a suburb only 20 minutes from Dublin City centre, 20 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from the M50 motorway. There is a good public transport system or we can offer an SUV.
Our home is large 3 storey red brick building, 10 yrs old and very bright and comfortable. It is in pristine condition throughout and we have a cleaning lady available.
The area is residential and we have an end house on a small cul de sac with views to the Dublin mountains.
We have a fully walled West facing back garden that is beautifully landscaped with a large barbecue and seating area as well as a lawned area with 8'ft trampoline and large swing/slide set for children. We are not overlooked by any other properties.
As our home is modern it has everything a family home could offer and as we have 2 sitting rooms with satellite TV there is plenty of space to relax after a long days sightseeing. There is high speed internet for keeping in touch with home.
We have 2 master bedrooms with en suites, a double bedroom, a single bedroom with twin bed and trundle and our 5th bedroom has a twin bed. The family bathroom is on the middle floor along with 4 bedrooms and the top floor is a master bedroom with en suite and closet.

More about us

  1. Hello, we are Victoria and Barney.
We have three children aged 13, 10 and 6.
Barney is an airline pilot, while I work from home.
We are family orientated, spending our free time with the children, family and friends.
We love Ireland and can help you choose sights that are of historical and natural interest and beauty. Because Ireland is small it is possible to make day trips even to the West and it's only 2 1/2 hours drive to Galway.
We would like to get to know you as our prospective house exchangers through email in order to help make your visit most enjoyable.

Where is it?

Our village, Lucan, has a variety of coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, shops, pharmacies and churches.
Lucan is a suburb of Dublin, but also a village in its own right. It is situated on the river Liffey, which flows into Dublin city. There is good public transport access into Dublin City.
There are beautiful beaches along the bay of Dublin and along the coastline going South and North. Fresh fish is available on the piers in Howth and Coliemore/Bullock harbour. The Dublin mountains and Wicklow mountains offer beautiful drives, walks, hikes with breadth taking landscapes.
Nearer to home we have our local park, St.Catherine's. It has a lovely woodland walk (or cycle), large childrens playground, and playing fields.
The park is 5 minutes walk from our house and there is a loop walk through the park and down to the village and back home which is about 5 miles so ideal for any runners and walkers.
The K Club, Carton House, Luttrellstown and Hermitage golf courses are all within a 10 minute drive.
The Phoenix Park which houses Dublin Zoo is a lovely 10 minutes drive away along the banks of the river Liffey.
Please ask us any questions you may have, we are only too willing to help you organise a relaxing trip to Ireland.
