“We met Fiona & Niall at their stunning period home before we checked in for a two week stay. We were shown around their beautiful house and made feel very welcome. The house is beautifully furnished and has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and luxurious stay. The location is super and has great public transport to get you all around the city. It’s just a short walk to Monkstown for great restaurants, a good pub and some boutique shopping. 2 mins away and you can take a dip in the fresh Irish Sea (very safe and with life guards on duty) which we did with our kids several times, as the weather was so good. The bus stops moments from the house and takes you to the city centre, while the Dart train service took us to Howth at the other side of Dublin Bay for the best fish n chips ! I highly recommend Fiona & Niall’s home for a swap. We enjoyed a perfect LHS experience and would love to return sometime in the future when the opportunity arises. ”

About our home
Open to swaps for 2022 and 2023... OPEN TO OFFERS!
Our home is a stunning redbrick home of 5,500 square feet, originally built in the 1850's overlooking a beautifully conserved regency garden square (circa 2 acres). The home was fully renovated - maintaining the period charm ,combining modern design and homely comforts.
At ground floor level there is an impressive entrance hall leading into two interconnecting formal reception rooms both containing many period features and original fireplaces. There is also a guest bathroom and a home office/study on this level. The study opens onto the back garden.
The two floors above have four bedrooms, 2 doubles, 1 twin and 1 single, with ensuite bathrooms and a large family bathroom. The master bedroom has stunning views over Belgrave Square.
The basement level is the leisure zone, with a large wall mounted flat screen TV, Xbox, Netflix , Apple TV and DVD player and contemporary style fireplace. Children's Playroom with TV also in the Basement. The kitchen is at basement level, Aga and gas ovens for cooking and entertaining in this enormous open plan space.
Large glass doors open to a sheltered garden with water feature at the rear of the house, which is fully equipped for outdoor dinning, including BBQ.
Please note that as the house is three stories over basement level it is NOT suitable for those with mobility issues.
Our house is located within a 5 minute walk of the quaint village of Monkstown, where you find a range of great pubs and restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The village also provides lots of opportunities for gourmet shopping for local breads, cheese and wine.
The house is only a 2 minute walk to the sea, where you can enjoy beautiful coastal walks, swimming, boating, sailing, cycling and of course there are no less than 10 golf courses within 15 miles of the house.
You will have a short 5 minute walk to the local train station from where you can explore the beautiful coastline, taking in atmospheric Irish villages along the way, such as Dalkey and Greystones.
There is also a short trip of only 13 minutes to get to the heart of Dublin city. Here you can experience all this vibrant city has to offer, with numerous museums, art galleries and well known attractions such as Trinity College, Book of Kells, Guinness Hop Store and the Phoenix Park. If shopping is high on your 'must do' list then a treat awaits with numerous uniquely Irish boutiques where you will find interesting and unusual finds from our home grown fashion designers.
Dublin is the hub for the national transport system and within a short space of time, using perhaps the train service, you can spread your wings further and experience a lot more of what Ireland has to offer. Wicklow, otherwise known as, 'The Garden of Ireland', is 30 minutes away by train, where there is a range of historic, leisure, adventure and sporting experiences.

Niall's reviews
As a host (6)“My family and I came a day earlier and Fiona was amazing and made it work for us. The house is beautiful and clean in a fabulous location. The village close by has great cafes and the house is a walking distance to the beach. Great area , highly recommended. We had a great time and would love to do it again. Galit and Donal Tavey ”
“The house exceeded all of our expectations, we felt really privileged to stay in Niall's and Fiona's home. Would swap again in a heartbeat! We especially loved the spacious kitchen and view from the master bedroom. This house is much bigger than we had imagined!”
“It really was a dream stay. The house is a fine house as the pictures portray. The area is fantastic with a beautiful big park immediately in front of the house which our children played with the locals daily. And minutes to the sea. We were also looked after very well by the very generous hosts Fiona and Niall. Can't say enough good things about our stay. ”
“We had such a wonderful Christmas in this beautiful home in Monkstown. Close to train and great walking along the water's edge. Close to many very good cafes and restaurants. From first contact to end of trip, everything was great!”
“What an amazing trip! The home is gorgeous and in the perfect location. Close enough to the city, but in a nice quiet suburb. The location also makes it easy to get out and explore the countryside. We had everything we needed including easy to follow instructions from our wonderful hostess. I highly recommend this nice family and their elegant home.”
