Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Navan is a large town located in County Meath. We love our town as it has everything a young family needs. Our house is 10 minutes walk from Navan town centre.

Buzzy restaurants
Our favourite restaurants are 'Larry & Nora’s’' or 'Room 8' for European food, 'Copper and Spices' for Indian, 'China Garden' for Chinese and 'The Central' for pub grub. The Boyne Valley is renowned for good food and these are just a few of the many food options in Navan. (There is also Mc Donald's and Supermac's for the wee ones!!!).
Cool bars
Navan has no shortage of watering holes. There is everything from traditional Irish pubs to 4am night clubs.
Cozy cafés
There are lots of delis, bakeries and cafes (Hansel and Gretel, Earl's Kitchen, Chekhovs) so with three young kids we often just grab and eat at home but eat in is definitely an option!
Retail therapy
Navan is great for shopping with a range of high street shops and boutiques. The avid shopper can take the M3 motorway to Blanchardstown Shopping Centre (20mins) or if you really want to spoil yourself Dundrum Shopping Centre (40min).
Bit of culture
The Boyne Valley is described by TripAdvisor as 'the gateway to the Heritage Capital of Ireland'. Navan itself is a very historic trading and milling town set on the rivers Boyne and Blackwater. The Hill of Tara, Newgrange (World Heritage Site), Bective Abbey, Trim Castle (featured in Braveheart), Irish Military War Museum, Lough Crew Megalithic Cairns, Oldbridge Estate Battle of the Boyne Visitors Centre are all within 30 minutes drive from our door.
Walks in the park
There are lots of parks, hills and forests nearby for everyday trips. Our family favourites in the locality include Boyne Ramparts Walk, Blackwater Park, Dalgan Park, Hill of Tara, Balrath Woods (all within 5/10 minutes)
Spot of exercise
Golf Enthusiasts may wish to avail of any of the top quality courses in the area- Headfort and Royal Tara Golf Courses. Aura Leisure Centre Navan has a modern family pool and pay as you go gym.
Day tripping
There are an endless list of activities and attractions to be found in Dublin City. By car or bus you can reach the city centre easily in under 1 hour. In addition to the highlights of Dublin itself we would recommend the following day trips. Tayto park is a must see theme park, the home of the Cú Chulainn (Europe's longest wooden roller coaster). Dublin Zoo (located within the beautiful Phoenix Park). Newgrange Megalithic tomb and Farm. Indoor Water Parks include National Aquatic Centre, Blanchardstown and Funtasia Water Park in Drogheda. We can also recommend plenty more local attractions and amenities upon request when we know the age profile and interests of your family. We are very much looking forward to welcoming your family into our home and will go out of our way to ensure you have a most enjoyable holiday.
