Stonebrook lodge is a spacious four bedroomed house close to the Loughcrew cairns in County Meath. It is surrounded by lakes, forests and beautiful countryside making it a perfect retreat. The house is newly renovated whilst at the same time retaining cosy charm and relaxation. It has two double bedrooms and two twin bedded rooms adjacent to a large hall which is heated by central heating, two open fires, a wood burning stove and last but by no means least an AGA which is a solid fuel cooker and centre of the home. It is here we congregate to enjoy traditional style slow cooking cuisine in our large dining room. Outside we have a large paddock in which two donkeys graze. In the garage we have a laser Pico boat, a Kayak, fishing rods and a quad bike (for Kids). We also grow our own vegetables and hope the slugs dont beat us to it.
My husband Richard and I adore our home in the country. We go there every weekend to escape the hussle and bussle of working life. It is quaint, quiet and cosy. Richard is an Investment Manager and I was a teacher. We have four children - Tatiana 14, Hugo 13, Patrick 12 and Sophie 10. They are fanatic about sport and play rubgy, hockey, tennis, golf, skiing and in any spare time they love to play guitar and piano. We also have two dogs and some ducks and hens which we keep in our primary residence in Co. Dublin. I am certain you will love our home as much as we do. Enjoy it.
Stonebrook lodge is situated one mile from Oldcastle where you can find great shops, antiquities and local markets. There are many pubs which specialise in Ceilies(Irish dance) and of course world renowned Guinness. Closeby is the famous Mullaghmeen forest park which boasts to be Europe's largest beech forest and a haven for wild flowers and stunning walks looking out over Lough Sheelin a super lake to fish in. Loughcrew is also well known for its annual opera festival in June and an adventure centre open year around. For riding enthusiasts there are many riding schools close to the house and the local fox hunt regularly ride over the land. The people in the area are all very friendly and eager to please and if you want a day out in the city Dublin is only ninety minutes away on the new motorway.
