About our home

This holiday home has stunning views of Carlingford Louth, nesting between Slieve Foy and the Mountains of Mourne. It is about 70 minutes drive from Dublin and Belfast airports. The cottage overlooks Carlingford lough. It is a refurbished 'old world' Irish cottage, situated 3 miles from the beautiful medieval town of Carlingford and one mile from the seaside village of Omeath. Lots of walking and sea sports in the area. Accomodation comprises two bedrooms (sleeps 4), sitting room , kitchen, shower/toilet with raised wooden deck to rear of property with views over Carlingford lough. If you want a real getaway cottage, this might be for you

Bit of culture
Carlingford is an old medieval town with an abundance of history and old castles. It is reputed to have once been the capital of Ireland. Evidence of its' ancient city status is the existance of old city walls, a Tholsel, a mint, an old abbey, and several other castles including King John's Castle overlooking the harbour & Taaffes' Castle in the centre of the village
