About our home

Rural house with beautiful gardens. Twenty minutes drive to the beautiful Heritage town of Abbeyleix, with resturants. Ten minutes drive to Durrow Castle with great walks. The Slieve Bloom mountains, with blanket bog unique to Ireland, a wonderful woodland stretch at Glenafelly, quiet country roads and the source of the Barrow River, all to be explored within driving distance. There is something to appeal to everyone. Thirty minutes drive to---Kilkenny City, a popular tourist destination--Birr Castle Demesne, home to the "Great Telescope"-- the Rock of Cashel ---The National Stud.
As we live in the centre of Ireland we live approx I.15 hours from Dublin, 2 hours from Cork, 1.5 hours from Limerick, 2 hours from Galwa,. 1:5 hours to join The Wild Atlantic Way. Laois is the 'undiscovered treasure' of Ireland.
Ammenities close by include 18 hole golf course, playground, tennis courts, horse riding, Polo, garden trails, walking, cycling trails, great castles, restaurants......

Dublin is just one hour away - The Book of Kells at Trinity College, Dublin Castle, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Guinness Brewery, Grafton Street, St. Stephen's Green etc etc ........so many places to see! www.visitdublin.com.
