About our home

We are architects and we bought, renovated and upgraded this house as our home in 2007. It is very comfortable and beautiful. It is 2 storey, with a very modern kitchen and appliances, dining room to seat 8 people, sitting room with TV, study, guest WC and utility downstairs and 3 double bedrooms all en-suite upstairs.

There is a Japanese-inspired garden, a small canal water feature, barbecue and paved dining area to the rear. The garden is abundantly planted. The garden is surrounded by high granite walls and in summertime it is sunny all day.

Anyone who visits the house admires it greatly, which is very rewarding!

Features

More about us

  1. We are a mature couple with 3 grown up daughters who like travelling and sailing. As architects we like visiting cities and are particularly fond of Venice. We once chartered a river boat in Treviso and took it across the Venetian lagoon and up the Brenta canal to see the Palladian Villas. It was a glorious trip.

Although just we two are travelling, we would very much like our daughters to visit us for short stays so would need accommodation for 6.

Neighbourhood

Our neighbourhood is very popular, with lovely local shops within 5 minutes walk.

There is an excellent butchers, fish monger, bread and cake shop, delicatessen, newsagent, gift shop and 2 small supermarkets. There are many cafes, restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance. There are 2 gyms, a tennis court, a city park and a linear riverside park - all within easy walking distance.

The city centre is approximately 2km away with 7 bus routes very close by as well as a tram. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Dublin city centre.

Dublin is very accessible and compact with many galleries, museums, historic buildings, theatres, concert hall, pubs, clubs etc.
