About our home

Our cottage is called Blackberry cottage, it is a typical Irish cottage with a half door(door can open top or bottom) within a 5min walk of the beautiful town of Schull in West Cork.
The cottage has 3 bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin and 1 with 2 bunk beds. open plan kitchen/dining and living room with an open fire. It has seperate bathroom and loo. The front door opens out to a lovely open garden that is safe for children to wonder about. The cottage is full of charm with a wonderful cozy atmosphere both in winter and summer. My family have been going to Blackberry cottage for many years and have enjoyed numerous wonderful holidays, including sailing, walks with breath taking sea views. There are also fabelous beaches within a short drive away. You can also walk along the sea from the cottage to the harbour and beyond. There are wonderful places to eat and pubs to enjoy a pint of our famous drink Guinness. Cork city is a hour and 30min drive which has a airport and a trail station. Cork is Irelands second largest city. You have the best of both worlds in Schull and so much to see and explore.

More about us

  1. My name is Antoinette and I am a 51 yr old women who would like to travel and have a opportunity to exchange houses, with my two teenage children Lydia 19yrs and Alex 14yrs. We enjoy being by the sea but would like to go to a warmer climate for our holidays. I have being ill for the past 2yrs and we have not being able to go on holidays as a family, but i am now doing very well and would love the chance to take my children on holidays as we have traveled to various countries since they were babies. We have always left the accommodation as we found it and we would expect that the same consideration would addressed to our home. Blackberry cottage is our second home and we go there as much as possible.

About a half hour drive which will bring you to the Mizen which has excursions to the Fastnet light house which is situated out in the middle of the sea.
