About our home

Our home is a modern large open plan house. It is bright, tidy, comfortable and cosy with a stove in the sitting room. We live in a rural setting and enjoy the peace of the countyside yet we are not isolated as you will read later. We have views of the Wicklow mountains from the front upstairs of the house. We have a large communial living area with the kitchen in the middle leading into the living room and sun room. The sunroom have a lovely view of our enclosed garden with French-door opening onto a paved patio. The upstairs is open and spacious with 3 of the bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, office and storage. Downstairs there is one bedroom and a bathroom. There is plenty of private off-road parking at the rear and a large wooden gate at the side of the property.

More about us

  1. My husband, Aidan, and I are both professionals in our late 40s. I, Mary, am a secondary school teacher and Aidan works in a bank. We have two girls, one 15, the other 13. We enjoy hiking, swimming, cycling and traveling. We have been to France 3 times and we see this as an alternative to the campsites. We like to experience the REAL feel of the country we travel to and be among the residence. We have participated in four exchanges both house and car to date. 2015 to Croatia, in 2016 to the south of France and 2017 Portugal, 2018 Britanny. We see ourselves as adventurous peoples and love trying new things. We found the exchange easy and enjoyable. We are looking forward to meeting a suitable family and we will facilitate a successful exchange in every way we can.

  2. As a family of 4, we have decided to do house exchanges due to the increased cost of holidaying abroad. We pride ourselves on being completely trustworthy in all our dealings and utterly respectful of your home and belongings.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We are centrally located in Leinster. We are within a 5 minutes walk of a small village. The walk is by footpath and you have a shop, playground, church and bus stop there. Locally there is plenty to do for all e.g. hiking, paintball, cinema, national stud, horse riding, watersports, shopping etc. We live a 45 minute drive from Dublin. Here there are many museums, a zoo, the phoenix park, aviva rudgy stadium, guinness hops museum etc. We are also a 45 minutes drive from the medieval city of kilkenny with is castles, monuments and celtic origins. There is too much to mention e.g. national stud in Kildare, Glendalough religious settlement etc. The east coast is within 45 minutes also with fabulous beaches and walks.
