About our home

We live in a small seaside town close to Dublin City just 5 mins from the train station (30 mins to Dublin), and 20 km from Dublin Airport.

Our house is in a quiet residential area only a few minutes walk to the beach and centre of the town. In our home we have satellite TV, WIFI and all mod cons. We have 5 bedrooms, 2 double, 1 twin, 1 single and 1 attic room which is ensuite and has a Futon and so can sleep 2 if necessary.

We have a small courtyard garden with flowers and small trees which opens on to a large area of parkland just behind the house.

In Skerries we have a beautiful, safe and sandy beach and lots of parkland. Children will enjoy exploring the many rock pools close to the harbour. There are lovely restaurants and pubs. A short distance from our house is Skerries Mills which has a working windmill and water mill, a craft shop and coffee shop, it is also the Tourist Office. You will find lots of pictures, etc on Tripadvisor.

There is a golf course 10 mins away and virtually any sport is available within a short distance. In July and Sept every year there are motorcycle races, the Skerries 100 and the Killalane Races. You can take a boat trip with Skerries Seatours. You can also rent kayaks and explore the nearby coast and islands. There is a tennis club within 10 mins walk. http://www.skerrieshomepage.com/ this site will give you a lot of information and photos of Skerries.

The beautiful Georgian city of Dublin is only 30 mins away by train. There are many places worth a visit from the Book of Kells in Trinity College to the Guinness Hop Store on the banks of the Liffey. We are also within easy distance by car of Drogheda and the Boyne Valley with it's many historical sites such as Newgrange Passage Grave which is a World Heritage Site. You will find more information on www.Newgrange.com. Belfast is approx 2 hours by motorway so it is easy to visit the Titanic exhibition, there is also an excellent interactive science museum which children love. Have a look on www.W5online.co.uk.

More about us

  1. We are a couple with 2 children, a 19 yr old boy and 12 yr old girl. We would probably be travelling with our son's 18 yr old girlfriend

  2. We are decorating our home and putting up photos as we complete the rooms.

  3. We like to see new places like a local not a tourist. We enjoy local history and swimming.
