About our home

Our home is comfortable & compact. The exterior is original, inside has been refurbished to a comfortable standard, but it has retained all its original character and charm, eg, sloping ceilings and stone fireplace.
The kitchen is small but has all modern conveniences for the present day guest. It leads onto a beautiful diningroom/sunroom which looks out to a patio and private garden.
This is a splendid room to relax and read, or just sit and gaze and listen to the sound of the country.
There is a sitting room at the opposite end of the house, which is mainly used on a cold drab winter evening.

Neighbourhood

Ideally located as a touring base for the south-west of Ireland. This haven on the famous 'Ring of Kerry' is just a day trip away from The Beara peninsula and Dingle peninsula.
Our neighbourhood is very quiet and tranquil. Grocery shopping is just 5 miles from the cottage. You get everything you need at the supermarket, or the smaller shops. There are excellent butcher shops, and a market on certain days. All information on this is available in the cottage.
There are beautiful beaches all within a few miles. One has a beautiful bar & restaurant, right on the beach which serves delicious food.
For the visitor that enjoys walking there is the famous 'Kerry Way' which is accessible right from the door-step of the cottage. The views of Kenmare Bay and surrounds are spectacular from the mountains of this walk.
