About our home

The house was built in central dublin in 1830 in the last flourish of building in Dublin's Georgian core. It is a 10 minute walk to St Stephens Green, the National Museum and the National Gallery. Trinity College is 15 minutes walk away. The house is less than 50 metres from the Grand Canal. On the far side of the canal is an small neighbourhood full of restaurants, coffee shops and traditional dublin pubs.

The house has been a family home since it was built and all of the period details have remained intact. All the fine plasterwork and joinery is as it was when the house was built. It is towards the end of Baggot Street and one minute from the Grand Canal. We restored and modernised the house in 2015 and is now home to us and our four young children.

The house is elegant, tall and imposing of four storeys over basement. Large Georgian windows overlook street to the front and the canal to the rear filling the rooms with light. The front door with its original joinery and brasses and leaded fanlight opens to an emerald green hallway with fine plasterwork, columns and arches on the ground floor. On this floor there is a large kitchen and casual dining area occupying the main rooms. To the rear there is a spacious coat area and pantry. Stone steps lead from this floor to the garden which has a gas barbecue, outdoor table and chairs and table tennis table.

In the basement there is a large children's playroom with a PS4, a large guest room with a double bed and a large bathroom. In addition there is a small gym with rowing machine and a workout bench.

There is a w.c. on the first floor return

On the 1st floor up from the entrance you will find the large elegant drawing room/living room with views over the street and the canal. It is decorated in period furniture with ample seating, large open fireplace, a grand piano and satellite television. This room is connected by double doors to a formal dining room with a table large enough to seat twelve and an electric dumbwaiter from the kitchen below.

The floor above has two double bedrooms (one with a super king bed the other with a double bed) both of which are en-suite. The top floor has three double bedrooms and a family bathroom.

We have gated off-street parking to the rear of the house.
