“Our exchange with Gabriel and Nuala was great ! It was our first time and Gabriel help us very much for every details of the organisation, all his advices were good. We have lot of communication with email or texts very easily. I miss words to said how is the house in Spiddal, on of the most beautiful i have ever seen, breakfast front of the bay of Galway, wonderfull garden, all you need is in the house... Spiddal is a good locality because lot of places are not very far from it. There are very good pubs if you like music and good food and you can drive to lot of places in one hour by car. Plenty of beachs are very near this aera too. So what can i say more ? If you want to discover nice people, nice country and tasty beer, go ! go ! go ! Manu, Caro and Elise”

Gabriel's reviews
As a host (4)“We had a wonderful stay at Gabriel and Nuala's home last August. Their modern stone house is a very comfortable and large home, where every one could relax looking at the sea or enjoying all facilities (snooker room...). Their house is located in a very typical village, Spiddal, with an interesting craft center and lively pubs. The very charming Galway city in only 20 minutes away. This is a perfect place to discover all the "Connemara" and we enjoyed each visit. What a beautiful part of Ireland! We warmly recommend an exchange with Gabriel and Nuala's house. They prepared every details of our stay and we felt very welcome in their house. We found our home just like we let it! THANK YOU AGAIN! Béatrice, Jean-Louis, Roney, Luca”
“Very beautiful beachfront house well placed for touring Connemara. Magnificent garden and view. Very good contact with Gabriel by email and sms Too bad we could not meet this sympathetic family. ”
“This was our second exchange and absolutely a success. The beautiful house was tidy, well equipped, and charming. The surroundings were quiet and peaceful near a little beach. Great views. The family was absolutely great with 3 wonderful well behaved children. We found our house in order and in better shape than before. We couldn't ask for more and spend some great days in Spiddal. The exchange was very well prepared and we found very helpful information. Thank you! I can recommend the house and the family for exchanges in any way! Thank you for your offer! We enjoyed Ireland very much!”

Neighbourhood
We live on a quiet country lane, off the famous Wild Atlantic Way tourist route. Our home is a short walk from Spiddal village (An Spidéal), which boasts beautiful sandy, blue-flagged beaches, restaurants, shops. The pubs are lively and inviting, a great way to hear traditional Irish music being played live and taste a creamy pint of Guinness! As Spiddal is in 'The Gaeltacht'(Irish speaking area) you can hear the language spoken by the locals. There is also a wonderful Craft Centre in the village where local craftspeople make and sell their wares( t-shirts, jewellery, music instruments, pottery, wooden crafts etc.). The Craft Centre also boasts a wonderful coffee shop.
We are 20 minutes from Galway city which needs no introduction. Galway City is listed in National Geographic Traveller as being one of the world's best trip destinations for 2019.
The Lonely Planet travel guide has listed Galway as one of the best cities in the world for tourists to visit in their "Best in Travel 2020" guidebook. They describes Galway as "arguably Ireland's most engaging city" and fetes its street entertainment.
In Summer it's a hive of activity with The Galway Races, the world renowned Galway Arts Festival. In May 2009 it hosted The Volvo Ocean Race and did so again in July 2012 when the final leg of the race finished here in Galway Bay. Galway City (population 80,000) is the main tourist region and University City in the West of Ireland. It is a must visit on any trip to Ireland according to all the best tourist Guides - FODOR's etc. Our home is a great gateway to Connemara, Lough Corrib and the must-see Aran Islands.
