About our home
Our home is situated in a quiet ‘mews’ type square just off Stoneybatter, an urban village in Dublin City. Our walls have original artworks and our bookshelves tons of art & design books. We have a traditional wood burning stove in the living room as well as modern central heating, Our spacious kitchen is well equipped with a dining area that seats 6. We have a small back garden with container plants and seating. We are situated 3 mins walk from The Museum of Decorative Arts & History, 8 mins walk to the beautiful and Phoenix Park (largest public park in Europe) with roaming wild deer, a visitor’s centre, Victorian tea rooms and the Dublin Zoo. We are 8 mins walk to Heuston Train Station - trains to all of Ireland. A 15 to 20 minute stroll will take you into the city centre and Temple Bar. Stoneybatter won the urban village award in 2017 (www.prideofplace.ie) and recently won the best pub award for the whole of Ireland; Walsh’s Pub. The Lighthouse Cinema (art house and mainstream) in Smithfield is a 10 minute stroll. You can visit our amazing coastlines and mountains, north and south of the city via the Dart train from the city centre; stunning scenery in 30 minutes. Stoneybatter has an abundance of friendly coffee shops, local bakeries, and my own favourite, Lilliput Stores, making it a dream destination for artists, designers, book lovers, cinema goers and lovers of friendly hip neighbourhoods. We have s new Smart TV with Netflix. Christmas visitors: our home will be tastefully decorated for Christmas upon request. Local transport includes Dublin Bus and the Luas Tram all within close walking distance. Heuston station is conveniently close by for trains to the rest of the country if you wish to go further afield. I could go on, but I’d like to leave you to discover some nice surprises for yourselves. 30 mins by taxi to Dublin Airport makes it a stress free, culturally diverse and relaxing break.
