About our home

Our home is in a quiet cul-de-sac and overlooks the sea on one side and Knocknarea mountain on the other. It is a two-storey semi-detached house decorated in a contemporary style and just a ten-minute walk from the seafront promenade. It is a comfortable, bright, welcoming home with all modern conveniences. There is a deck in the back garden where you can enjoy breakfast or eating out during the long summer evenings. There are two bicycles in the shed at the bottom of the garden. The sea can be viewed from all areas of downstairs as it is open plan - our kitchen opens onto a sun-room and is also connected to the living room (TV, DVD, Stereo). There is also a downstairs toilet and hallway. Upstairs we have a bathroom and three bedrooms one of which is en-suite. Two of the bedrooms are large with double beds and we also have a small bedroom with a cot for baby - a single bed can be arranged instead if required.

Where is it?

Our home is located in the seaside village of Strandhill in the North-West of Ireland. It is a wonderful village with a golf course, seaweed baths (www.voya.ie), pubs, restaurants, bakery and airport all within walking distance. The village is reknowned for its unique wild flowers, seals, surf and sand dunes. There are four surf schools in the village so it's possible to get lessons or hire equipment for children and adults. There is also a football pitch and playground. There are megalithic tombs to the other end of the village, Yeats Country and plenty of places for hill-walking and lake fishing. The village boasts the best of both worlds with seascapes and mountain views and good night life with live music in the nearby pubs. In addition the town of Sligo is just 8km away for shopping, children's activity centres, tourist information, etc. During the summer months there are several music festivals including jazz and traditional Irish music.
Strandhill serves also as an excellent base to explore other parts of Ireland with Connemara to the west and Donegal to the north.
