About our home

Nestled in picturesque woodland, Darafhada is an authentic stone farmhouse built in the 1700s. Completely refitted in 2014, luxury features include BBQ deck mounted in the trees, separate lodge onsite, courtyard and expertly planted, lush extensive gardens. The surrounding countryside is a haven for nature and outdoor enthusiasts with walking and hiking trails on our doorstep. Fishing, boating, golfing, pony trekking, forest parklands, lakes and wildlife reserves abound locally.
Dublin city and airport is but 1 hr 30 min away and we are 20 min from the historical Athlone town, which brims with classy restaurants, cafe's, Irish pub culture and much more. Tour the breathtaking scenery of Ireland's West and Wild Atlantic way, with the renowned Cliffs of Moher, Connemara and the mystical Burren. Ancient local castles, monastic and mythological sites, bring history to life. Enjoy a little pampering and indulge in added luxury served with a warm sense of humour at local bespoke hotels. Dine on reputed great food and savour the craic and camaraderie at live Irish music sessions. From ziplining in the tree tops, cruising with the Vikings to wilderness wonderlands, Darafhada offers an unmatched experience wrapped in effortless hospitality.
