About our home

.Our comfortable 4 bedroomed house has been recently renovated and extended by an award- winning architect. It featured in the Open House Dublin Architecture festival 2019. With its’ combination of original period features and contemporary extension and refurbishments it is perfect for those seeking an interesting city base. With 4 bedrooms (2 en suite) and a large, unique kitchen, dining area the house is perfect for families who want to relax and enjoy their time in Dublin.
Downstairs there are two interconnecting reception rooms with lots of original features including cornicing, original woodwork working fireplaces, floorboards, stained glass and leaded windows. There are comfortable sofas for watching the large flatscreen tv (not pictured) with many channels including Sky Sports and also Netflix. Also, downstairs there is a small guest bathroom, utility room with washing machine, dryer, second sink. There is a large kitchen with a beautiful barrel vault and stunning curved skylight. Here there is a dining table large enough to sit 12 people and a sofa for watching the hidden tv which can be pulled out from the kitchen island. The kitchen has a 5 ring gas hob, two refrigerators, two ovens and is very well kitted out with all cooking requirements. A large pivot door opens on to sunny, private patio and town garden.
Upstairs on the first landing is a sunny bedroom with a vaulted ceiling. This has one single bed but can accommodate a second pull out bed for a child. There is a bathroom with shower and bath also on this level. Up another flight of stairs there are two double bedrooms with period fireplaces and original cornicing and sash windows. The largest master bedroom has a beautiful new en-suite with shower and underfloor heating. Up one more flight of stairs there is another very large double bedroom also with its own en-suite bathroom.
We live on a quiet residential street. There are very easy bus links close by which can bring you straight into the city centre. It is possible to walk to the city centre from our house (about 40 minutes) and we also have four bikes which you are free to use. The area itself has lots of lovely coffee shops, restaurants and parks nearby. We will share with you all our favourite places to go. Rathmines is a short 10-15 minute walk and there you have two cinemas, supermarkets and lots of other shops and places to visit. Excursions to beautiful Wicklow, Dublin Mountain walks and Dublin beaches and swimming areas are all within an easy drive from the house.
