This house was completed in April 2016 and is a very unique and wonderful home, designed by a renowned architect.
This house is large (200 sq.m.), luxurious, & located in a quiet enclave reasonable close to city.
The house is a family home, that is lived in by our family, however it is stylish and is used for fashion shoots & tv shows, design articles, newspaper articles.
All aspects of this house are designed by Tom DePaor. In 2017 the Royal Institute of British Architects awarded de Paor an international Fellowships for his work. In 2019 his work was been shortlisted in the BBC's World Architecture Festival.
The house has a large footprint which includes two large and fun, open plan living spaces; a lovely private rear garden; and 2 beautifully landscaped courtyards within the house.
The house has lots of luxury features; floor to ceiling windows and polished concrete floors with underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, paintings throughout, free-standing sculptural fireplace, a wonderful kitchen, 2 lovely courtyards within the house, pond and lots of fish, a hot tub and much much more. Guests can use our hot tub, it's just an inflatable hot tub and has repairs in places, but works fine and is great fun.
There is a large master bed, with double shower, bathroom and courtyard ensuite. Upstairs there are three small bedrooms (approx. 7 meters squared each) upstairs and a private full bathroom (with shower, bath and toilet). 2 of these bedrooms have single loft beds and the other room has 2 single beds, so the house can accommodate 6 people. Also please know that the 2 bedrooms with loft beds, so are accessed by a ladder, so this wont suit all people particularly people with more limited agility.
The kitchen is stunning and very well equipped for entertaining and there is a barbecue in the rear garden.
The house is in a quiet residential area, so in respect of our neighbours we have a strict no party policy.

“Fiona and Kevin’s home was just perfect for a family . It was architecturally designed . So interesting - polished concrete and full of plants . We felt at Horne immediately . It was a great base to visit Dublin - few minutes in the car . Highly recommend . ”
“We had a super week in this original, and very cleverly designed property. There were modern, creative living spaces and unique courtyards within the house itself. The master bedroom was very spacious and the kitchen living area very good for a family of five. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything we needed and we felt able to chill out there. We were able to be in the city centre within ten minutes or so by car, The hosts were lovely people and very easy to communicate with, they obviously love their house and were more than happy for us to make ourselves at home, Check in and departure were flawless. They were excellent guests in our home during the swap and left the place immaculate. We visited Dalkey, Howth and the city centre all within an easy drive, I would recommend this property for a city break to Dublin and surrounding areas. Thanks Fiona and Kieran! ”

We love design and think our house reflects this. We love adventure and that's why we are seeking fun exchanges for school holidays and over the summer! Our house has a lovely design, but at it's heart it's laid back family home, which will love dearly :)
Harold's Cross is a wonderful historic, residential area, with lots of parks, fine restaurants and fun bars. There now are 3 Michelin Bib Gourmand in close proximity to the house (Craft, Bastible, Clanbrassil house (do make reservations well in advance of your visit!)). Plus the city center is only 5 min bus/taxi ride away or if you're up for it the centre is only a 40 min walk away.
The house is in a very quiet, residential area, with very little traffic. It is situated on the corner of a very picturesque small square.
There is a supermarket and a range of small shops 5 minutes walk away.
