About our home

Our three bedroom family house is in a very quiet side street in the suburb of Terenure and was fully refurbished and extended in 2017. The house is ~ 120m2 and is on excellent bus routes to the city centre (10-15 minutes, the same on a bike!) and 8 minutes to the M50 motorway, connecting to the motorways to Cork (2.5hrs), Limerick (2hrs), Galway (2hrs), Kilkenny (1.25 hrs), Waterford (2 hrs) and Belfast (2 hrs). We are also only 15 minutes from the Dublin/Wicklow mountains with Glendalough and the Vale of Avoca less than an hour way.

Our home is an excellent base for a family looking to explore Dublin and the rest of Ireland. There is ample free parking and we would consider a car swap too. There is so much to do in and around Dublin and all across Ireland. Our house is 15 minutes from the centre of Dublin if you would like to spend time in town and there is so much discover all across the country if you like exploring and the great outdoors!

The best websites to get a taster are:

The house is open plan downstairs with two huge sliding doors (6.25m2 each) opening to the westerly facing back garden, and a high spec kitchen with modern induction hob, double oven, fridge freezer etc. It is a lovely, safe neighbourhood and we have great neighbours with all the children playing out in the front garden together. We have children's bikes, 2 adult bikes and scooters that can all be borrowed.

More about us

  1. We are a family with three young children aged 7, 5 and 2. My husband is a project manager and I am a French teacher.

  2. 2020: Our dream is to do a long exchange this summer (2-4 weeks) with another family and would particularly like to go somewhere c with lots of outdoor sports and where there are a variety of childrens activities available. Our preference is anywhere in Europe as long as it is great for children!

We would also be interested in doing houseswaps around Ireland during the other school holidays
We love travel, meeting new people, doing outdoor sports like trail running, swimming, cycling, skiing and hiking, eating good food and spending time as a family.

  3. We love travelling and spending as much time as possible outdoors. We spend our weekends exploring other areas of Ireland, hiking in the local woods and mountains or at one of the beaches (on warmish days!). So we can give you lots of advice on things to do all around Ireland. We like cycling, swimming, hiking, skiing, trail running and seeing beautiful views. We speak English, French and some Spanish and love learning about different cultures and countries. We're keen to share our love of the world and travel with our children and hopefully help you to do the same!

We did our first house swap in Spain and three others in Sligo, Ireland, Norway and The North of France. We have loved all of the swaps and have particularly enjoyed meeting the families that we have exchanged with we've been able to. It is also such a privelege having the opportunity to show the girls a completely different way of life.
