About our home

I offer a comfortable and welcoming home with beautiful views overlooking the River Shannon. The house has a large garden and faces onto fields and the scenic river to the front. There is a large open kitchen, dining and living area with a wood burning stove for cosy evenings. There is also a separate sitting room with a large selection of books where you can enjoy a quiet read and watch the sunset over the river. There is a large main bedroom with a bathroom en-suite, a second bedroom with a king size bed and a third bedroom with two single beds.. There is also a sofa bed for two more people in sitting room if needed. The main bathroom offers both a bath and shower. Downstairs there is a small toilet and a utility room and there is also a garage outside. The house is spacious and ideal for relaxing and making yourself at home.

More about us

  1. My name is Nollaig and I am an English and History teacher. I enjoy travelling and exploring new areas very much. I enjoy being close to the sea but I also like the city and towns for activities. I look forward to making email contact with potential swappers.

Where is it?

The house is situated just a few minutes walk from the centre of Carrick on Shannon town in County Leitrim in the west of Ireland. Carrick on Shannon is a very pretty town with beautiful walkways along the river Shannon front. It has been the recipient of the Gold Medal in the Entente Florale Awards. It is a lively town with plenty to occupy holiday makers - pubs with evening entertainment, clubs and restaurants, arts and drama centre, cafes, public swimming pool and gym, tennis courts, 18 hole golf course, walking and cycling routes, boating trips, bowling, multi screen cinema, traditional music, soft play areas for children. There is an annual carnival at the start of June. The town has been awarded the Purple Flag for the quality of night-time entertainment.
The town is less than an hour's drive from the beaches of County Sligo where you can surf, get seaweed baths or just walk and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the West of Ireland. You can access sections of the famous Wild Atlantic Way coastal drive easily from my home.
It is a fifteen minute drive to Lough Key Forest Park where there are options for walking, boating, soft play, Zipline and an overground tour.
It is just two hours to Dublin and there are direct trains and buses from Dublin several times a day. The house is also only 45 minutes from Knock West Airport that serves a number of UK and European destinations.
