We have a beautiful new home in the Irish countryside. Green field views from every window and the famous Croghan Hill is right behind us. (a famous site closely linked to St.Patrick!) Our house is only three years old, purpose built with a clean spacious appearance and very modern with a country style theme. Set on over an acre and half, there is lots of space and comfort in this idyllic rural setting.
Most of the bedrooms have adjoining ensuites and walk in wardrobes. As we have two children - two young boys, there is also a playroom with lots of toys, bikes etc. There is also a cot and lots of useful items for people with young children.
The house is equipped with all mod cons, broadband, Desktop Computer, Apple TV, Blu Ray player, Home Cinema, Gym Equipment.
There is also a seperate guest house should you wish to have any visitors.
Our car is also available for your use.
A cleaner will come once a week.
Ours is a busy home of media professionals. I work for the state broadcaster and Garret is a University lecturer and documentary maker. We're in our late thirties, and couldn't be happier with our home and the setting we've invested in over the last few years.
We are all well travelled and work abroad regularly so we would be reliable and trustworthy house guests. We would treat your home like our own, and will expect the same from our house guests !
Our hobbies include walking, cycling, cinema, tennis, golfing and travelling.
Looking foward to hearing from you ! Martina and Garret
The house is situated in the midlands of Ireland, close to the famous Grand Canal. Although the setting is rural, all of Ireland is accessible easily from this location. We are a few minutes away from one of the countries main motorways which connects two of the biggest cities, Dublin and Galway. Travel time to these locations for instance is an hour and and an hour and half respectively.
The house is close to a town called Daingean, which has traditional Irish pubs and small grocery stores. Larger towns are within 15 minutes drive.
The area is quite picturesque and very historical. The surrounding landscape has castles, boglands, famous hiking trails (The Grand Canal Way), historical gardens, world class golfing courses, and some major historical monastic sites are within a short distance. These include Newgrange, Clonmacnoise and the Hill of Tara, all just 60 minutes away.
The setting of our home is peaceful, tranquil and very relaxing. If you are traveling from an urban setting you'll find it's location the perfect choice, as you can indulge in a traditional Irish rural setting, but cities and touring options are on your doorstep.
A daily bus to Dublin passes the top of our road twice daily if you don't feel like driving !
