Neighbourhood

Westport is a thriving tourist town full of lively pubs, restaurants and cafes. It is famous fo its 'Holy Mountain' aka 'the reek' where St Patrick is supposed to have fasted for forty days and nights and banished all snakes from Ireland. It's also a great mountain to hike. Matt Molloy of the Chieftains lives and owns a pub here and frequently plays when he's not on tour. Our house is a stroll to the town centre. On the way there is a children's playground as well as the town swimming pool and skate board park. Westport House, a historic 'theme park', is on our door step. There is a championship golf course in the town and local links courses about one hour's drive away.
Some the best salmon pools in Europe are only forty five minutes by car.
There are endless amounts of beaches to visit and explore some as close as fifteen minutes drive.
One of the world top surfing beach is an hour's drive.
Connemara is a half hour by car.
Clare Island and Inishboffin Island are a must visit either as a day trip or over night.
