“Our host Francesco was able to accommodate us at very short notice when we were visiting Rome. His communication and fast responses with us via LHS were excellent. He is delightful, welcoming, amicable and very generous, offering to drive us from Rome, (where he was on business), to Anguillara, Sabaza Narrow cobblestone paths, no more than two meters wide run between the stone buildings within the castle walls and lead us to our accommodation, a beautiful recently refurbished 3 level medieval home. This house is very special, it has the typical features of the old medieval townhouses built so long ago but with the comfort of all modern amenities and a large open fireplace in the living area. I open the windows in the morning and fling open the big brown shutters. Down the quiet cobbled path are medieval, three story, stone built houses with their pink, blue and purple cyclamen flowers in pots along the windowsills and washing hanging below the windows ; I am transported to a different time, long ago. Excellent restaurants and cafes are very close in the cobbled streets. We also found excellent seafood by the lake and enjoyed eating lunch with long wooden skewers from an open brown cardboard container absolutely brimming with prawns and lightly battered calamari with wedges of lemon. Weekend pop-up market stalls are set up by the lake selling their home made produce of tasty cheese, spicy sausages, fruit jams, tangy sauces and art and crafts. A shuttle bus runs form the town to the train station and back and you can take the train to other towns around the lake or directly to Rome. A supermarket, bakery, hairdresser, Post Office with ATM and other shops are in close walking distance. We climb up the robust ladder on the 3rd floor and through a large roof hatch in the ceiling to a fabulous rooftop terrace where we have the most spectacular views. We look over the old terra cotta rooftops at the ancient buildings of the town surrounding us, across to the perfectly still blue lake and drink hot chocolate in the warm winter sun. It is beautiful and we are so happy to be in this lovely place. ”

About our home
MyCosyRetreatInAnguillra is located in the historical centre of Anguillara Sabazia, a medieval town 55 minutes away from Vatican city and Rome center, just a walk away from lake Bracciano's shores and the shopping area, this cosy retreat will welcome you when you want to get away for a while, to work on your projects, think or simply recharge your batteries after an intense period.
The astonishing rooftop terrace overlooking the lake, where you can rest during the day, becomes very romantic at night time.
The space
This is house is something we really love and made for our family. A place nearby Rome where to slow down time and have excellent relax without having to travel far away.
Wherever we will move in the future we will always keep this house as our little treasure.
It has the typical features of old medieval townhouses with the comfort of the modern times. It is organised on four levels: On the ground floor we enter in the cosy living room with fireplace and open kitchen, on the 1st floor the comfortable bedroom with queen-size bed and a mix of antique and modern furniture the functional bathroom with his own huge shower, the washing machine, that is also dryer, and lawndry wardrobe, on the 2nd floor there is the mansarda, that is set up as studio with a desk, an armchair, a comfy single bed that might be turned into a queen bed. In the mansarda we even created an extra sink with cold and hot water for your comfort. Please consider that the room in the mansarda does not have a door. From the mansarda through a roboust wooden ladder and a roof hatch you can reach the terrace overlooking the old town and the lake where you have a sun-bed, armchair, dining table for four and a parasol.
NOTE: Please inform me in advance in case you are travelling with a kid, age less than 3 years old, that will sleep in the crib.
Knowing you will take good care of things, the house is at your complete disposal. There are some personal items that we normally keep under the master bed and in the rainbow cabinets under the wooden staircase.
This is an old medieval house, just refurbished with all comforts, but still we did not want to change the nature of the artefact that is old, hence there is NO elevator but a lot of stairs, two passages are narrow but contribute to overall characteristic of the house . Anyway I'm a 1.90cm tall and 110kg heavy man and I can move well around.
