Le Marche, Italy in one Region
“If one had to decide which Italian landscape was the most typical, you’d have to choose the Marche …with its range of landscapes, it is a distillation of Italy.” Guido Piovene, Viaggio in Italia, 1957
The central region of Marche is a well-guarded secret, but once you discover it you are completely captivated and mesmerized by its beauty, just as we are.
The region is bordered in the west by the Apennine mountain range with ski resorts and hiking trails. Between the Apennines and the Adriatic coast is a glorious hilly landscape with traditional farming of cereals, vineyards, olive groves, and sunflowers.
Every few kilometers you come across pretty hilltop villages, fields of gold, sparkling rivers, and lakes, castles, fortresses and medieval walled towns. The 180km of Adriatic coastline is lined with a stretch of spectacular blue flag beaches.
The Blue Flag program is a voluntary eco-label awarded for beaches and marinas with strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental management, and safety information.
The region is full of history, art and culture with Romanesque and Renaissance churches, abbeys, monasteries, and sanctuaries surrounded by sweet, gentle hills. Many of the greatest architects, artists, and writers of the Renaissance period were from Le Marche - Raffaello Sanzio (Raphael), Donato Bramante, Rossini, Giacomo Leopardi, and Gentile da Fabriano. Just 10 Mins from the Casa is one of the many Roman Ruins that you can visit in Le Marche. During some times of the year, there are concerts and tours given here.
This is our main home here in Colmurano, Marche Italy. We set directly on the Piazza Carradori, we live in a very small village with just 1253 people and we are the 3 :). If you want to experience "The real Italy" come and stay in our home and walk to the butcher, baker, produce market and live "La Dolce Vita". You can walk to the markets and one restaurant just around the corner. But you will need a car to get here because we are in the rural countryside. You can rent a car just 30 mins from here if you want to take the train to Civitanova our local beach town.
We have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms spread over 3 floors along with an eat-in kitchen, living room with television and an amazing rooftop terrace. Our bedroom has a queen size memory foam mattress and our grandson's bedroom has a euro queen size bed. So it's perfect for either 2 couples or 1 couple with 2 children.
Starting September 1, 2019 this available for short or longterm rental as we will be moving and putting it up for sale then. So if you are looking for the perfect Italian vacation home come and try it out before you buy it. We do have a cleaning fee of 100 euro per weeks stay.
