About our home

Our stunning Italian villa is an elegantly restored 15th century house with spectacular views of the Apuan National Park in the heart of Lunigiana. Our casa grande is built on several levels with delightful terraces and loggias where guests can enjoy dining al fresco, sipping sun-downer cocktails or just lazy days lying in the sun. There is a spacious and comfortable living room (with a stunning stone fireplace) which leads onto an outdoor terrace dining area from which one can gaze at the breathtaking mountains. The kitchen is well equipped with all that keen foodies could wish for including a large island made from local cardoza stone, a beautiful stufa from Verona and large electric ovens with gas hobs. There is another large terrace with pergola for outside dining, including a barbeque, overlooking the beautiful mountain range. Upstairs, there are three spacious and beautifully appointed double bedrooms and one twin bedroom with original tiled floors and two bathrooms/shower rooms as well as an additional double bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Underneath the main accommodation lies a loggia with table-tennis and a private cantina apartment fully equipped with kitchen and living room which is suitable also as a kids playroom. There are free weights and a treadmill for keen exercisers.

The gardens and terraces are stunning with olive and cypress trees, lilies, roses, lavender and juniper and the deep swimming pool is cleverly located on the bottom terrace for escaping the bustle of the house.

Nearby there is lots to explore be it the thermal pool and treatments in Equi Terme, the local markets or the Castella D'Aquilla in Gragnola. The medieval town of Lucca is an hour away by local train, beaches at Lerici and the Bay of Poets are only a 45 minute drive down the hill with ongoing access to the famous Cinque Terre.
