Our charming home is conveniently designed on one level (110 m²) and has a big independent garden (2500 m²) with lawn and threes bordered by hedges guaranteeing you a private and relaxed stay. Depending on the season you'll have cherries and wild strawberries for Eastern, prunes and mulberry in July, apples, grapefruit and cachi in autumn.
A bright living room with large south-facing windows giving plenty of natural sunlight and access to the spacing terrace where we usually eat outside from April to September. Books in Italian, English and German for adults and children and various games on the shelves, I-pod cable connected to the Hi-Fi for music. The kitchen is fully equipped with large fridge, traditional oven, microwave oven, gas cooktop, dishwasher. We like cooking so you'll find plenty of kitchen materials, fresh herbs in the garden and also a contact with a local short food supply chain. One bedroom has a double bed and the other bedroom has 2 superposed single beds (a baby bed is also available and a Stokke trip trap chair for small children). The bathroom has tub and overhead shower (washing machine in the bathroom).
Outdoor furniture include wooden table and planks on the sunny terrace for spring and autumn but also an outside table with ceramic mosaic on the top placed on the shadowed side ideal for al fresco dining in the hottest days, sun loungers and Webers barbecue. Wi-fi available. Alarm system.
Covered parking place (if you do not come with your own car we suggest to rent a car at the airport). Laveno is only 40 min from Malpensa airport.
Very peacefully area. The house is situated in a small street within walking distance (600 m) from Mombello village where you can find a local bakery selling delicious breads and pastries, a pharmacy, bars and a restaurant. Only 2 km away the charming center of Laveno, part of the 'golden triangle' of Lake Maggiore (Laveno, Verbania, Stresa), with its scenic lakefront promenade, a variety of shops and tempting restaurants and a cable lift up the mountain to a breathtaking panoramic view of the nearby lakes.
From Laveno you can easily hop on any ferry and explore the lake at your leisure (regular schedule towards Verbania, Stresa and the magical Borromeo islands). The Laveno railway station connects you easily with Milan city centre and the provincial town of Varese.
3 Km away is the lakeside town of Arolo with its cute little beach and lakefront promenade. Nearby, Cerro and Reno are charming little villages with promenade, marina and sandy beaches where you can enjoy the sunset in one of the lakefront summer bars. Here you can get information about sailing lessons for children and adults and boat rental.
Day trips can easily be made to the not-to-be-missed monastery of Santa Catarina, built into the cliffs of the lake, the towering castle at Angera, the lively, waterfront town of Luino boasting on Wednesdays the largest open market of the area. Check for the dates of expositions or other activities in one of the famous FAI villas in Casalzuigno and Varese.
In addition to the many water sport possibilities offered by the lake, be sure not to miss the great opportunities for paragliding, mountain biking, cycling or trekking.
