About our home
Our apartment is very well decorated with one bedroom and one bathroom, a large lounge/dining area which opens onto a terrazzo which is a perfect spot to unwind and relax on. We live on the first floor so there are only a few steps up to our apartment. The kitchen, although small ( as in most Italian homes) is well appointed with doors opening to the terrazzo.
About the location
We live inside the walls of Lucca which has a population of only 9,000. Lucca is a very sophisticated City and once, the home of Puccini so you can view his home, now a museum and each evening there is a one hour concert in one of the churches which is well worth seeing. The city is surrounded by a 4km wall which is completely intact so it`s great to walk or bike around. There are any number of cafes, great restaurants, historic sites and its position makes it perfect for sightseeing Florence, a short 1.20min bus or train ride away, Pisa and its airport are only 30 minutes away and the Italian Riveriera (Mediterranean) is a 30 minute car journey or, alternatively, by train. The bus and train stations are walking distance from the apartment. The serchio river which flows down from the mountains is within walking or biking distance and makes a nice change in the summer heat.
