About our home
Villa Ama is located in the citrus and wine-growing foothills of Mount Etna near the coast and has good sea views. It's a gated property with a pool laid out over 3 floors with a wealth of natural light, stunning views, consistently high ceilings and french doors to most rooms.
Mature, split-level Mediterranean garden with orange, lemon, palm, eucalyptus, camellia and magnolia trees, bougainvillea, succulent plants
Small swimming pool surrounded by lemon and orange trees and local terracotta decking.
Uniquely, skiing and several beaches are within easy reach, while the baroque gems of eastern Sicily can be explored in relatively nearby Siracusa, Noto and Ragusa, UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Taormina with its Greek theatre and stunning setting is just 20 minutes away.
For food and wine lovers, the hill towns and wine estates of Mount Etna offer wine tasting and excellent trattorie with regional specialities. Taormina provides more sophisticated dining and entertainment, including an international film festival and world class hotels such as the San Domenico Palace.
Further afield, Ragusa offers Michelin-starred dining. Lying between the mountains and the sea, Villa Ama is a convenient 40 minute drive from Catania international airport.
An 18-hole golf course lies within 20 minutes of the villa, while the unspoilt local town Piedimonte Etneo has food and wine shops. Nearby Linguaglossa offers boutique spa and wellness treatments.
Mercati Generali, a bar/club/music venue near Catania, was called 'probably the best club in the world' by The Guardian.
Villa Ama and its owners were featured in The Daily Telegraph in 2008.
