About our home
Apartment available in exquisitely fully restored house in the heart of Tuscany.
Situated in a 300 year old stone house in Piloni, a medieval hamlet , the apartment overlooks the extraordinary views of the pristine Belagaio forest.
The house is perfect for a couple or a couple with a child. Cosy and comfortable, with 2 bathrooms, the two open plan living areas are connected by pretty wooden steps, it has central heating,a gas cooker, a double bed upstairs and the couch downstairs turns into an extra bed.
The picturesque villages of Piloni and nearby Torniella offer a glimpse of authentic Tuscan country life, away from the hoards of tourists.
With Piloni as a peaceful home base, you can drive along the ancient Roman road on which is situated, between Siena and Grosseto, to enjoy the wonders of Tuscany. The road itself is one of Europe's famous scenic drives, great also for riding a motorbike or cycling.
There are a number of hot springs in the area, the closest of which are free, open-air ancient roman carved baths next to a river in the middle of the forest. Also nearby we can recommend some amazing trattorias, the stunning basilica of San Galgano (possibly on a full moon night), lovely walks and hikes in the forest, swims in the Farma river, horse riding and bird watching.
The Tirreno coast and the famous beaches of Punta Ala, Talamone, and the nature reserve of the Parco dell'Uccellina, as well as Siena, Montalcino, San Giminiano, Mount Amiata, are all within a 50 km radius.
