Wonderful beach house in salento (Puglia-Italy)

“We absolutely loved our stay in Barbara’s beach side home. What a perfect location just steps from 2 beautiful beaches with safe swimming. The house is simple but has a lovely relaxed vibe! It was equipped with everything you need to enjoy a great holiday even deckchairs and beach umbrellas to take to the beach! Having a kitchen and washing machine after 6 weeks if travelling was a real treat! Barbara was an excellent hostess leaving fresh handmade cheese and oli olive and fresh vegetables and fruits from her parents garden. We enjoyed the while area very much especially the hirse riding just a short dustance from the house! If you are looking for an authentic puglua experinece this is it!! ”

“L'appartement de Barbara n'est pas du tout approprié à recevoir des hotes, ni payants, ni contre des points ! Il n'y avait à peine un filet d'eau le dimanche soir et il a fallu insister pour que son papa vienne voir si nous racontions des betises ou pas (!). Le mobilier a 50 ans et est resté dans son jus. Il y a de la rouille sur le materiel sanitaire, des fuites d'eau venant de la toilette. Les matelas sont de pietre qualité. Pas de produits de premiere necessité comme du sel ou du poivre...Mobilier exterieur en plastique. Bref, Barbara n'a pas eu la franchise de nous preparer à l'avance et nous sommes restés choqués et sommes partis avant la fin de notre sejour. Les plages ne sont pas nettoyées debut mai, ce qui n'est pas un gros probleme en soi mais avec le tout a été tres tres desseperant et nous pousse pour la premiere fois en 17 ans à laisser un review d'alerte pour les autres homeswappers ! A bon entendeur ! --------------------------------------------------THE HOST'S RESPONSE----------------------------------------------------------- I'm sorry if Corine didn't like my house, it's a simple beach house, like cleary showed in the pictures, and it could be disappointing if someone expect a luxurious villa! Even if we left for them some goods to eat (like local cheese and fruits), we were asked from Corine to provide them with wine glasses (that we gave them the day after), spices for cooking and other things that we usually don't give to guests. The furniture is simply what you can expect for a beach house and of course, due to the proximity to the beach the garden furnitures are in plastic. The house was clean and nobody so far had to complain. The house is always rent in the summer and we do swap only during low season, in all the sites from where we rent the house it has only top reviews and not a negative one and it should mean something! Corine's family had the bad luck to experience a problem with the hydraulic system at their arrival, we checked it the day before and everything was fine, but unfortunately something broke and my dad immediately called the plumber to fix it as soon as Corine let us know. ”

“We had a lovely experience during our 2 week stay in Barbara's house in Puglia. Her father welcomed us very kindly and made sure we found everything ready (and fruit and local sweets in the fridge!) The house is simply furnished, but comfortable. It has a small but lovely shaded patio, where we had our meals. It is only a few metres away from a beautiful small sandy beach. You can reach other wonderful beaches nearby on foot. The whole area and region is outstanding. We did not always find good weather, as we travelled off season (end of October), but we enjoyed some sunny days, when it was possilbe to siwm in the sea. There are also beatiful historical towns nearby. A hearthfelt thanks to Barbara and her family! ”
