“Thankyou Kate for letting us share your charming home. We had a wonderful time walking the streets of Rome and your cosy flat was lovely to come home to! Set in pretty Trastevere, it's no distance to visit all Rome crossing bridges over the Tiber. Rome at night puts another dimension on the eternal city. Climbing up to the top of St Peter's dome was an incredible experience! Put your most comfortable shoes on and set out with a good map!”

About our home
Elegant, but cosy (I think!) On the top floor (with a lift) of a period building in the heart of Trastevere, one of Rome's most vibrant districts. It is in the San Cosimato area, so central but with a local, family vibe. The piazza has a playground for little ones and there are literally dozens of cafés, bars and restaurants within a ten-minute walk, (several within a two-minute walk, if you have mobility problems or just feeling lazy).Within walking distance of all Rome's main attractions. If you can walk for half an hour, you should never need to take public transport.
Super-fast broadband. Smart TV with Sky Italia (English language news channels and Sky Atlantic with programes in original language), and Netflix. I've just had air-conditioning installed throughout and the flat has double glazing, so although central, it is quiet.

“Katie was a fantastic host and her flat is in a perfect location to explore Rome. I was with my family so we all had our own space with the three bedrooms. Her flat is very chic and cool with tons of books and great bathrooms. Katie was very communicative and gave us lots of tips on where to go, what to see and where to eat. Thank you Katie.”
“We loved our stay at Kate's apartment . Very comfortable for our family , with a special touch , reflecting Kate's personality and tastes , full of books , art , we felt at home . Location fantastic , close to everything , transports to reach Rome center . Thank you Kate for making this possible . I would love to return someday Maria and family ”
“We had a fabulous stay at Kate's place, which is brilliantly located for exploring Rome. It is possible to walk everywhere, or just hop on a tram or bus if you've run out of steam. The immediate area of Trastevere offers all the cafes and restaurants you would ever need. We were especially pleased to find a restaurant offering gluten-free alternatives to everything on the menu, just a stone's throw away. Kate's place was comfortable, practical and stylish, with generous sized rooms. Just the place to chill after a hard day's exploring. Thank you again Kate for prompt communication, and taking good care of our place during our simultaneous swap.”
“Perfect 5*”
“Kate was the perfect guest - great communication, treated our home with respect, and is a frequent traveller to London so didn't need any intel :)”

Everyone who stays here agrees that the location is great. Very central and within walking distance of all the sites, yet with a real neighbourhood feel.

I am always open to a swap in central London. Also interested in the Lake District.

Neighbourhood
"This busy and lively neighborhood has the look and feel of a traditional small Italian town, with people shopping, chatting, drinking espresso and going about their daily business," say Trip Advisor. It feels like a real Roman neighbourhood. yet it is just across the Tiber from the historic centre and within a 30 minute walk of everything from St. Peter's to the Colosseum and the Pantheon. My apartment is off Piazza San COsimato, with its local market and one of the few children's playgrounds in central Rome, suitable for very small kids.
