“We had a great stay at Michele's apartment. The apartment is quaint and although a touch dated, the location can't be beat. We had really easy communication with Michele and were greeted by his wonderful mother. All the major sites were an easy 10 min bus ride away. This meant that after a day of sightseeing we could return to the real Italian neighborhood in which the apartment is located. We had a morning coffee or an evening drink at the bar situated 10 steps from the front door. It was easy to get groceries at several places within a 5 to 10 min walk. There were loads of good places to eat that we could walk to, including a great pizza place about 20 yards away. In addition to the buses we used the Metro, also a 10 min walk away. All in all we had a terrific stay and so enjoyed the benefit of the apartment's location and the easy time we had in communicating with Michele. (As a side note, his family stayed at our house and were wonderful guests). ”
Michele's reviewsAs a host (12)
“Excellent host! I really enjoyed this trip with my girlfriend.”
“Rome is a beautiful City and this apartment was in the perfect location!! We loved the area!! Lots of great restaurants within walking and had a great vibe. Michel was a super host, apartment was full of history and met our needs completely :) Thank you Michel. Barb and Bett”
“My husband and I toured Rome with our 4 children, and Michele's place was perfect! I loved the old world antique hand carved furniture, and the big windows and scenery outside was also nice. This is a fabulous location! Less than a 2 mile walk to the Colosseum, and bus stops (tour and regular) close by. I really liked the that this was a ground floor unit. I also enjoyed the open courtyard in the middle of the building. The unit itself is very large, and slept all 6 of us comfortably. The paint colors were cool, and it was also nice to turn on air conditioning. All in all, the location was amazing, the property was clean, the description listed is accurate, the host is a great communicator, and the place was overall very comfortable! Five stars for sure!”
“We really enjoyed staying in Michele's apartment in Rome. Filled with beautiful antique furniture. The street can get a bit noisy so being ear-plugs!”
“We spent 4 days, 3 nights in Rome. Given our short stay, the location was not ideal, because it took us awhile to get comfortable with the bus system. Buses 80 and 38 are convenient and took us to most of the locations we wanted to go to, or took us to other bus connections. The buses are not always on schedule though! Michele's Mom, Franca, met us and showed us around the apartment and made sure we knew some of the operating necessities and idiosyncrasies. She was very gracious, and even stocked some food for us...we never had to buy breakfast! Given some of the shortcomings of the apartment, I think the 900 points that we paid was inflated. 600 would have been more appropriate. Michele has prepared a very detailed blog that provides information about the apartment and the area, which was quite helpful to us in making plans for our visit. Thanks for your hospitality and the opportunity to visit Rome and experience a typical Roman neighborhood!”
“Michele was prompt and most helpful in all ways of communication, even having someone meet us at the apartment. The apartment was clean , furnished as shown, in more antique style, and spacious in the main rooms. Only the bathroom and kitchen were small. There was a folder with detailed information on everything you could need. The location was easy for us, just a 5 min walk to local buses which took us in 15-20 mins into Stazione Termini or Via Nazionale etc. An 8min walk to local shops and supermarket. Local cafe and restaurants were next door. A great spot to avoid the bustle of inner Rome, but still convenient to transport. ”
“We are a family of 5 and had a great stay. our time in Rome was magical. The apartment is clean, very large and nice (great pictures from old times and furniture). It is in a residential area but easy to get to all the nice places to see. The flat is on the ground floor. The kids and my husband slept well. I had to adjust after the first night, not used to outside noise. Earplugs could be helpful for people who have light sleep. The flat is 10 min walk from the metro to go to the Coliseo and 10 min walk to bus stops and trams to go straight in the centre. Uber does not work well in Rome and prices are crazy. Taxis were easy to find (and very friendly) at the corner of Corso Trieste and Via Nomentana. There is a café around the corner on a piazza for a simple and good Italian breakfast. Walking distance from the flat, we had great food at Ristorante Eleonora D'Arborea on Corso Trieste, at the Pizzeria Millevoglie on Via Ajaccio and in the fresh market on Piazza Alessandria. Fantastic ice-creams alla Gelateria Mondello on Piazza Regina Margherita. Our kids want to live in Rome now! ”
“Michele is very friendly and flexible, just a pity the house is not in the center”
“muito feliz com a casa de Michele, muito atencioso apesar de não tê-lo conhecido. lugar muito bem localizado, perto do centro, perto do transporte publico, voltaria com certeza.”
“The apartment was in a very nice but residential area , being on the first floor there was alot of outside noise, for us earplugs were a must. Taxis were not available in the area without calling but the bus was fairly close.”
“We had a lovely stay. Michele was extremely helpful and organised. The house was bigger than we expected. Filled with art and antique furniture. We found the house clean, easy to live in, quiet at night and it made our stay in Rome wonderful. Michele also provided detail info with regards to restaurants/grocery stores etc in the neighbourhood, which was extremely helpful. There was also a separate document on the house which was extremely complete and up to date. We would love to return!”
