About our home

Summer 2023: looking for a swap on August 8th to 20th (beach in Europe/North Africa)

SUMMER 2024: looking for a SWAP WITH CALIFORNIA LA!

Sunny apartment at the 4th floor of a 1930 building in Roma Prati historical area: a large kitchen with a big table, a nice sitting room (with TV), living room (table for 6/8), corridor, one double bedroom for kids with a bunk bed that we can convert in two single beds (plus a sofa bed), one single bedroom, large master bedroom (all of them very quiet), one small bathroom and a big one with comfortable shower and tub, plus a large cuddy (with washer and dryer). Every room has got big windows. Wi-fi is high speed fiber all over and conditioning air works properly (2 motors, very quiet). The house has been totally renovated, we have the elevator but you have 5 steps to get in. As you can see on the map, we are very close to the centre and - even more important - we are in the flat area of Rome, so no hills to walk up and down. Plus, we are the most connected zone by public transport (metro, bus, tram, cab). From the house you can simply walk to St Peter or Castel S. Angelo (2 kms, 15 minutes) or take a bus 30 meters from the house (you'll have it within 5-10 minutes) and get to piazza Navona (3 kms, 10 minutes by bus, 20 by foot). The metro is 1 km far from (Lepanto station), so you can reach Termini train station in 5 minutes or Colosseo in 10. If you like to bike, you can rent and go on the reserved lane straight to the Vatican or along the Tevere river till the center. Prati is full of open markets, shops, street food spots, very nice restaurants and there's a play garden just few steps from our place (for kids 0-15). To be clear, this is not a luxury house but a very comfortable place to be: the kitchen is new, beds are good, warming/conditioning air is independent and the hot water is always ready for the shower (it's not so common to have these services in ancient houses like ours in Rome, check it out). Plus, the wooden floor and the handmade decorations (both original by the 30s), the spacious rooms (ceiling 3 meters high) make it a real Roman home with contemporary benefits. Hope you enjoy it!

More about us

  1. LOOKING FOR CLASSIC SWAP AUG 5th to 20th!

We are a family of 4: Giovanni (59) and Chiara (53) are journalists, Pietro (20) and Agata (17) students. We love nature, food, music, books, cinema and arts. We love traveling! It would be a pleasure for us to introduce you our amazing country suggesting places and things to do not only in Rome: from here you can reach Naples or Florence in 1 hour by train, Venice or Milan in 4 hours, Sicily or Sardinia in 1 hour by plane. We had nice swaps with Asturias, Florida, Helsinki, Israel, Berlin, Milan, NYC, Valencia, Tunisia, Costa Rica, South Africa, Barcelona and Rio de Janeiro: so good to see the world and make new friends all over!

  2. We love helping our guests to enjoy Rome day and night, from food to museums, shopping or simply resting in front of beauty: just ask :)

  3. Our place is warm in winter and very fresh in summer time, we love confort and everything is easy to manage here. The house is very sunny as it is at the 4th floor (and the elevator is very useful after a long walk in town!): come and see, you will love it.

Neighbourhood

The building is very cozy and people are nice. We never had problems with noises or other stuff. As we are not in a touristic zone, you will sleep in silence. Just under our place you find a pizza shop, a nice enoteca with good wine and typical Roman food, a shop with daily fresh bread, milk, mozzarella and whatever you need to survive ;) The area is totally safe, you can walk around day and night. You can reach the roof to pick the laundry and see St Peter's Cupola!
