About our home

The main house was built in the 1850's but the original house -- now the cellar -- dates back to the early 1600's. The house is solid masonry with a spectacular view of the surrounding agrarian countryside and a panoramic view of the Adriatic Sea. It has a garden, two outside parking stalls, a quiet meditation room, and a large, lovely terrace.

The main street of the town is 200' away and has 3 grocery stores, a meat market, a bakery, a green grocer, dry cleaners, pharmacy, three coffee bars, and two good restaurants. The entire town is a walker's paradise with narrow lanes, terraced gardens, old churches, and views of the snow-capped mountains.

This is our permanent home, which involved years of careful planning, but we try to get back to Seattle once or twice a year.
