About our home

***We are looking for swaps in California for July/August 2020***

A 17th Century palazzo with ornate fresco on the ceiling situated in the main piazza of the medieval town of Senigallia.

This beautiful apartment has all the benefits of both city and beach living because the Mediterranean sea is just 5 minutes walk from the front door. The town centre is car free and everything you need is within walking distance.

Senigallia is where the Italians go on holiday, a well kept secret from the Brits who all head for Tuscany which is two regions over.

The beach is ideal for families as the sea remains at waist level for 50 metres. The seafront and town centre are full of great places to eat and drink, including two Michelin starred restaurants.

Senigallia's central location is a perfect base to explore Italy from. Just three hours from Rome and Venice, an hour and a half from Bologna, an hour from the historic city of Urbino - and 25 minutes from the local airport of Ancona, door to door.

The Monte Conero is 45 minutes away - with it's crisp white sands, rolling hills and vineyards, famous for its red wine. The local white wine is the Verdicchio. If mountains are your thing there are great national parks within half an hour's drive.

Senigallia is also a wonderful place to visit in the winter time. Autumn sees the arrival of the new wines and seasonal foods like truffles and mushrooms. There is skiing and snowboarding just an hour away. During the Christmas period the town centre is beautifully lit by hanging lights and new year's eve is celebrated by a huge party in the neighbouring piazza with a magnificent fireworks display over the town's castle at midnight.

The apartment is 130 msq, on the second floor of one of the oldest buildings in the town. It has a large living area with a 4metre high fresco'd ceiling, mezzanine and dining area. There is a large kitchen with another dining area. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with shower and jacuzzi sized bath. There is a double bed in one bedroom and a second bedroom with two single beds and double sofa bed. There is an additional double sofa bed in the sitting room.

The apartment has shelves full of great books. There is Apple TV and Netflix. For music lovers we have Sonos speakers that you can link to your phones or computers. Our 10 year old son has lots of children's English language books as well as heaps of games.
